The 25th century Earth Federation, Earth's first interstellar government, is falling fast into decline due to overexpansion and a failure of it's communication and transportation systems. The fastest cruisers and freighters take between 2 months to 3 years to travel between star systems on the outer reaches of the galaxy. Colony worlds are rebelling and causing unrest in the mighty Earth Federation. Amidst this, the tiny rose-colored world of Venusia Colony is nestled in a star cluster between Andromeda and Earth. It's considered a gateway spaceport where Interstellar freighters and cruisers stop in for refueling and R & R during the several month to several year journey between systems. Venusia is a barren hostile planet protected only by a self contained spaceport run by a small population calling themselves Arcadians. They are descendents of New Orleans inhabitants who hold unique festival half the solar cycle when the gold planet is in equinox. The celebration, St. Ferris Day is a combination of old Mardi Gras and remembrances of the defeat of the Cyber army.
The Doctor - (DRTUNA) - A wandering Timelord in his 10th Persona
Irish - (Irish TCat) - a green cat, the son of Trouble and protege of the TARDIS, he can morph and communicate both telepathically and by speech.
Jacie Hunter - (Jen) - 16-17 year old humanoid with short red hair, freckles and a survivalist attitude. She's a Space Time Gypsy (STiG) used to hopping the timelines with her ne'er-do'well uncle. Wears active attire or body suits, pirate-like shirts and always carries a leather drawstring pouch around her belt. In her pouch, she carries a variety of lock picking tools, herbal medicines or gas pellets and other things. She's an accomplished pickpocket who's only interest is in acquiring the time crystals needed to power her STiG time bracelet.
Nico Lazarus - (Ruth) middle-aged Space-Time Gypsy with colorful tongue (think Figaro) and a unique morality. He left the caravan with his niece after the great massacre and the others began following the White Phoenix. He prefers his independence and surviving on his wits. The only thing he cares for outside himself is Jacie, but he's not necessarily a good influence on her.
Sabalom Glitz - Intergalactic con man and smuggler known to the Doctor. He's frequented the Time Trap among other places and has a keen ear for time secrets.
Professor Yuri Vladimir - (David) middle-aged inventor of the famed "Glitter Gun" that saved the Earth Federation from Cybermen forces during the Cyberwars. He's recently turned his ingenious skills on a way of recamping the old Travelmate system for instantaneous interstellar transport. He only needs one more element. He's also a friend of the Doctor, one who may have received a few configuring tips from the timelord during a crucial time in Earth history.
Security Consult Maximus Brody - head of security on the spaceport Venusia. He's a glorified clerk demoted, some say, for a diplomatic error in the space corp. He is related to some high ups in the government but is considered the blacksheep of the family. He's looking for a way to resurrect his reputation and prove his worth to the Federation. (To be revealed as the Butler, a second-rate timelord once the Masters lackey who is seeking to get the power hes always sought no matter what happens to the Universe.)
BEGINNING BALCONY OVERLOOKING FESTIVAL (Doctor, Jacie)As the Doctor watches the festival of monsters Jacie glimpses something odd sneaking up on them. It's an entropyn making a beeline for the Doctor. Jacie, because she's a step closer to the thing, tries to foolishly fight it off. The Doctor prevents her from coming in contact with the creature, but his attempts at reasoning fail. The creature rushes past him, through him and over the balcony edge to the festival. The Doctor collapses from the encounter.
Vladimir diligently though slowly powers up his ET Machine. Playing for time, he says the lashed up power coils need longer to charge up. He tries again to dissuade Brody from tampering with things he doesn't understand (i.e. time). Brody retorts he knows far more about time than the pathetic human scientist. Security beeps in an urgent message to the SC. Monsters are on the concourse (to wit Brody seems unconcerned), the suspect boys are headed this way (to wit Brody is encouraged) and they're led by a green cat meaning the prisoners have escaped (to wit Brody is furious). He tears out of the lab grumbling about incompetent humans and barking orders for security to quit fearing monsters and catch or kill the Doctor.
With Nico's time bracelet in his grasp, Irish weaves a path through the monster festival pausing every now and then to make sure the boys are following. They encounter various monsters along the way and at the lift to the secured lab section are briefly caught by security guards. The boys make a ruckus confusing the guards and Irish lures a couple cyberdemons over for a distraction. Irish, Nico and Glitz escape via the lift as the frightened guards are attacked by monsters and flee for cover. One radios the Security Chief
Jacie tends the Doctor assuming he's been transformed somehow, but after a few calming breaths the Doctor recovers his composure apparently unharmed. He claims the energy flow just overwhelmed his senses momentarily. Jacie questions why he wasn't altered. The Doctor says he is what he believes and somehow they must get everyone else in the festival to do the same. Then he notices Jacie's time bracelet and gets an idea. She hesitates giving it up admitting it's powerless, but the Doctor assures he can fix it. He does so just as guards spot them. Jacie starts to run, but the Doctor stops her activating the time bracelet. A stasis wave washes over the festival paralyzing all the monsters, guards and humans. Curiously, Jacie is also time frozen until the Doctor places the time bracelet on her wrist. As he explains what he's done (creatures not transtemporal are affected by the stasis field), Jacie notices Entropyns moving through the crowd back toward the lab, as if summoned. Concerned, the Doctor follows, admittedly without a plan but certain something worse is about to come.
The lift opens on the secured floor to reveal Brody and his guards waiting fully armed. Irish tries to bluff past, but when he attempts morphing into a giant cat to frighten the guards Brody activates a sonic blocking device. Irish collapses in terrible telepathic anguish. Nico and Glitz try to kick and bite their way for Brody's device, but the guards pluck them off the floor. Excited at his find, Brody takes the time bracelet from Irish and orders the guards to bring the rest. He heads back to the lab.
Alone in the lab save a couple guards at the door, Vladimir tinkers over his machine. He decides he can't wait for the Doctor to come and must make a stand alone. First, he deals with the guards by calling them over to help him move some machinery. When they pick it up he inflicts a low level electric force to stun them. Meanwhile, the ET Machine reaches full power behind him. The time hole opens again and something like a whirlwind begins to come through. Frightened, the Professor quickly dismantles the power unit to shut down the vortex again. Before he can make his escape with the components the doors open on Brody.
Vladimir is unhappy to see Brody and stumbles for an excuse for the smoldering control unit. He claims the lash up wasn't adjusted properly and had a power feedback, but Brody doesn't buy it. He coldly shoots down the Professor. Stepping over the dead body, Brody reattaches Nico's time bracelet. He reopens the time vortex just as the Doctor and Jacie barge in. As soon as Jacie's time bracelet enters the room the guards holding Nico and Glitz are time frozen, but everyone else remains free to move. Most surprisingly, Brody is unaffected revealing himself to be a transtemporal being and not a mere human. The Doctor takes a long look at the man and realizes where he saw him before (the Butler from the Wheel). He's regenerated since then but is still as manipulative and nuts. The Doctor confronts the Butler exchanging barbs about their past and his insane intentions to be better than the Master. Meanwhile, Jacie manages to retrieve the sonic blocker and shut it off to free Irish. When they try to reach the control device at the Doctor's signal the vortex begins to let something through again. A temporal whirlwind swirls through the lab creating chaos; the lab doors open and the entropyns gather like a waiting army. To the Doctor's horror a glowing being (by folklore called a "godmaker") steps through the vortex. Brody/Butler and the Doctor each confront the irritated being. Brody/Butler explains he summoned it to do his bidding. The Doctor tries to warn him arguing that the being and its entropyns don't belong in this universe. The "godmaker" ends the argument with a raging, irritated howl of energy. Everyone is thrown across the room in a paralyzing wave as the entropyns follow the "godmaker" back through the vortex. Brody/Butler tries to stop them, grabbing the "godmaker" and disappears in a flash of light. As soon as the creatures enter the vortex, the gateway pad explodes.
A short time later, all step out onto the balcony overlooking the festival which swirls as if nothing had happened. Irish drawls he preferred monsters to humans. Glitz and Nico (both now fully grown men) nurse hangovers and grumble about the whole wild story not believing they were turned into a couple of brats. The Doctor is saddened that the professor died, but supposes time sorted itself out. Jacie asks how. The Doctor sadly explains this time period is not ready for time travel of any kind. Before the subject of unlawful time travel can come up, a cyberdemon (this time a human child in disguise) accosts them. Jacie and Nico time jump and Glitz makes a quick exit leaving the Doctor and Irish to pay the bill.
BUTLERS WISH (Brody/Butler, Master)Brody/Butler reappears to find himself in a transport capsule staring out into deep space. Then he hears an irritated voice beside him. He turns to find the Master angry that his doppleganger materialized in his ship. The Butler insists hes the Master and its his ship. In fact, they are both Masters trapped in the White Phoenixs altered reality Universe which they control unaware its just a game.
