Setting

The 25th century Earth Federation, Earth's first interstellar government, is falling fast into decline due to overexpansion and a failure of it's communication and transportation systems. The fastest cruisers and freighters take between 2 months to 3 years to travel between star systems on the outer reaches of the galaxy. Colony worlds are rebelling and causing unrest in the mighty Earth Federation. Amidst this, the tiny rose-colored world of Venusia Colony is nestled in a star cluster between Andromeda and Earth. It's considered a gateway spaceport where Interstellar freighters and cruisers stop in for refeuling and R & R during the several month to several year journey between systems. Venusia is a barren hostile planet protected only by a self contained spaceport run by a small population calling themselves Arcadians. They are descendents of New Orleans inhabitants who hold unique festival half the solar cycle when the gold planet is in equinox. The celebration, St. Ferris Day is a combination of old Mardi Gras and remembrances of the defeat of the Cyber army.

Cast

The Doctor - (DRTUNA) - A wandering Timelord in his 10th Persona

Irish - (Irish TCat) - a green cat, the son of Trouble and protege of the TARDIS, he can morph and communicate both telepathically and by speech.

Jacie Hunter - (Jen) - 16-17 year old humanoid with short red hair, freckles and a survivalist attitude. She's a Space Time Gypsy (STiG) used to hopping the timelines with her ne'er-do'well uncle. Wears active attire or body suits, pirate-like shirts and always carries a leather drawstring pouch around her belt. In her pouch, she carries a variety of lock picking tools, herbal medicines or gas pellets and other things. She's an accomplished pickpocket who's only interest is in acquiring the time crystals needed to power her STiG time bracelet.

Nico Lazarus - (Ruth) middle-aged Space-Time Gypsy with colorful tongue (think Figaro) and a unique morality. He left the caravan with his niece after the great massacre and the others began following the White Phoenix. He prefers his independence and surviving on his wits. The only thing he cares for outside himself is Jacie, but he's not necessarily a good influence on her.

Sabalom Glitz - Intergalactic con man and smuggler known to the Doctor. He's frequented the Time Trap among other places and has a keen ear for time secrets.

Professor Yuri Vladimir - (David) middle-aged inventor of the famed "Glitter Gun" that saved the Earth Federation from Cybermen forces during the Cyberwars. He's recently turned his ingenious skills on a way of recamping the old Travelmate system for instantaneous interstellar transport. He only needs one more element. He's also a friend of the Doctor, one who may have received a few configuring tips from the timelord during a crucial time in Earth history.

Security Consult Maximus Brody - head of security on the spaceport Venusia. He's a glorified clerk demoted, some say, for a diplomatic error in the space corp. He is related to some high ups in the government but is considered the blacksheep of the family. He's looking for a way to resurrect his reputation and prove his worth to the Federation.

BEGINNING

IN THE LAB (All)

The Doctor, Irish and Jacie barge into the lab just as the invisible entity comes thru the ET. The Doctor demands the machine be shut down but it's too late. The entity brushes past Prof. Vladimir painfully and instantly changing him into an old man. The professor collapses in shock and the Doctor tries to protect him. Nico, meanwhile, reaches for his time bracelet as another entity passes by grazing him too. Nico turns into a young boy before Jacie's shocked eyes. Irish growls at the entities but wisely stays out of their reach. Glitz arrives just then under armed escort. When the Doctor shouts to grab the time bracelet in boy Nico's hands, Glitz reaches out and comes in contact with an entity. He too is turned into a young boy. The entities escape the lab in the confusion (killing a guard and leaving the others terrified). Nico and Glitz, in a tugging match for the bracelet, chase after them. Jacie dismantles the ET control only to be coldcocked by Brody. The SC burtally restores order, reasserting control over his terrified guards and orders Jacie, the Doctor and his cat be arrested.

MIDDLE

IN GAOL (The Doctor, Irish, unconcscious Jacie)

Tossed in a cell, the Doctor makes Jacie comfortable while conferring with Irish. The feline smelled foul temporal flux in the entities which the Doctor confirms with a nasty suspicioun. They have to get Glitz and Nico back to the lab with the time bracelet. After some convincing, Irish agrees to escape via an air duct, retrieve the boys and meet back at the lab.

TROUBLEMAKERS ON THE CONCOURSE (Glitz, Nico)

Meanwhile, Glitz and Nico chase each other through the festival a couple of reckless boys. Ahead of them, the entropyns pass by revelers chenging them with a touch. Cyberdemons turn into real cybermen, blaster-toting and attacking other revelers who also turn into their make-believe roles.

ENDING

IRISH, TO THE RESCUE (Irish, Glitz, Nico, Cyberdemons)

Irish weaves through the melee to spy the boys taking turns stealing food from vendors and playing catch-me-if-you-can. Irish tries to steer the boys to the lab, but Glitz and Nico are having too much fun. Then the converted cyberdemons come after them. Irish creates a diversion, snatches the time bracelet and allows Nico and Glitz to chase him back towards the lab.

CHANGING PROFESSOR (S.C. Brody, Prof Vladimir)

Prof. Vladimir, stabilized by med techs, remains in his lab when Brody saunters back in sending everyone else away. Brody shows only token compassion for the professor convincing him he's well enough to work on reestablishing the ET link. Vladimir refuses on the grounds more of those creatures will get loose. That's what Brody wants. Vladimir is apalled and questions the security consuls true intentions. Brody reveals the time warriors are friends, associates, he's always wanted to meet. They bring the ultimate power to idealists like him. They will save the Federation from disorder for more than just this measly century but for a legacy. Vladimir accuess the SC of being insane. Brody turns violent threatening to torture the old professor if he doesn't get to work. In a last ditch effort to disobey Vladimir argues he doesn't have the bracelet. Brody orders him to configure something else, but Vladimir insists he doesn't know how and asks for the Doctor's help. Brody virulently denies that instead pointing out that Vladimir knows everything he ever wanted now. The entropyns have changed him into the old genius he always believed himself. Vladimir tries to deny that too, but Brody threatens him again. Reluctantly, the professor begins reconfiguring the controls.

BREAKING OUT OF GAOL (The Doctor and Jacie)

As soon as Irish leaves Jacie awakens in a rotten mood. She shuns the Doctor attempts to doctor her demanding to know what's going on. The Doctor explains as he works on picking the door lock (with great difficulty). The timelord explains the entities are Entropyns, "time termites" or pure entropy. They are quantum variants that can alter time based on thought and make the timeline unstable. Jacie doesn't get it (how can aging and rejuvenating people destroy time?). The Doctor explains quantum's theory's view of how time depends as much on thought as action (e.g. Shroedinger's Cat). The Entropyns alter time by making thought reality. People become what they believe or pretend to be. Jacie asks, with some trepidation, if the process is reversible or will her uncle remain a boy forever, assuming he hasn't time jumped already with the bracelet. The Doctor senses her wariness and tells her first they have to escape the cell. Taking the hint, Jacie takes over picking the door lock for the Doctor popping it open in seconds.

To their surprise the security corridors are strangely empty. The pair quickly escapes the secure area to find the reason for missing guards on the main concourse. St. Ferris Day has been turned into a festival of monsters!

Next Week's Sim

Under Security Consult Brody's orders the Professor's Enhanced Travelmat has been activated on Venusia. Now a temporal rift has opened and some invisible entity is stepping out.
