Background

WHAT HAS GONE BEFORE: One year ago in normal space-time, the Universe endured the worst tragedy it ever forgot… in the supernova explosion of Odin's Eye the Doctor died.

Upon returning to this Universe, the Doctor has found everything far from how he left it. Worlds are being oppressed and it is all the blame of his people. The so-called Central Authority controls all interstellar and intratemporal traffic. Having lost his friend Drax to the Timelord Intevention Squad (nicknamed the Squids), the Doctor is in search of him now.

In the last episodes, the Doctor, Fred and Irish snuck aboard the traveling cruise liner the Flying Montecarlo on a mission to find the missing Drax. Instead they find many of the Doctor;s old friends working as crew under assumed identities and with complete amnesia of their real lives. When the objected, he was taken to the Sickbay for treatment. Meanwhile Fred joined forces with undercover Hegemonic agent Bond and Irish found his sister Harlequin hiding in the ventilation system desperate to recover her old human friend Flavia (now Captain Lavia). Last we saw the Doctor underwent treatment and believed himself to be just another passenger (Dr. Von Schmidt) enjoying the Midnight Deck Party with the crew and indulging in talk of his travels to Metebilis with strange responses from the crew. Fred had failed to awaken the Doctor from his delusions and instead followed Frax down to a massive computer room along with Bond. Irish and Harley were captured while searching for the cause of the Doctor's amnesia in the MediBay. Irish was just about to undergo the same brain scan when he saw the flickering image of the Doctor beside him.

SETTING: The Flying Montecarlo, a luxury spaceliner on a millenia journey across the galaxy. Passengers are renowned scientists, politicians, inventors, scholars and people who could change history. The crew consists of many old friends of the Doctor's, brainwashed and with new identities.

THE CAST: POSSIBLE CHARACTERS
Reserved roles marked by a [name]

The Doctor - [Tuna] - the wandering infamous timelord in his 10th regeneration has returned home to a time of temporal, universal strife. Now calls himself Dr. Von Schmidt, a classmate of Dr. Chrono-Von-Meter.

Irish - [Rob] - he Doctor's feline companion, with green fur, mental powers, a dislike for water and all things that muss his fur. He hasn't seen his feline family in years, but shares a unique mental bond with them.

Eos, picture of Doctor's new companion"Fred" (Eos) - [David] - a member of the race of energy beings known as "The People".  After establishing a rapport with Irish, she risked her life to save him and the Doctor.  She has taken the human name of Winnifred Stephanie O'Connell ("Fred" for short) for herself.

Pierce Bond - a secret and private investigator resembling that fictional 007 earth spy. He wears tuxedos, has dark, neatly-trimmed hair and drinks lemon twists, shaken not stirred. He's aboard the Flying Montecarlo not for pleasure but for very secretive work. His cover story is that of a trillionaire-playboy on a long, much-needed holiday.

Cruise Director Roxana aka Romana - blonde, perky and timelady Romana's alternate personality. Like her crewmates, she remembers nothing of her former life and is very happy to be aboard the Flying Montecarlo.

Security Chief Blitz aka Sabalom Glitz - once a thief-for-hire, this ex-pirate now has the assumed role of an ultra-conservative security chief. His sole existence is to stop crime. It is his calling, and something he is exceptionally proud of. Any implication otherwise makes him prone to violent outbursts.

Captain Lavia aka Flavia - the redheaded commander of the Flying Montecarlo, hers is a dream job. She steers the automatic piloted ship through hyperspeeds around the most exotic places of the Mutter Spiral on a millenia journey. When she first started (so long ago she can't remember), she was the most excited captain they ever had. But in the last few months she has become bored and discontented. She feels called to do something more for "her people". She keeps as a pet an orange poodle she coaxes to do cat tricks for some unknown reason, even to her.

Harley - aka Harlequin, Irish's feline sister who was last seen departing as a kitten to travel with former President of the High Council Flavia. She's a calico cat, fully grown and on a mission.

Nurse Chapel - blonde, pretty, assistant to Dr. Chrono-Von-Meter with perhaps another more secretive master

Engineer Frax - better known to the Doctor as timelord Drax, but now acting as the cruise ship's chief engineer and fix-it-man.

Bessie - the ship's computer located in the exact center of the ship behind a sophisticated security lock. Has a feminine personality and voice. She takes up an entire room with control panels, processors and monitors all displaying each crew member and passenger on the ship.

BEGINNING

DECK AND SHIP'S INTERIOR (Fred, Bond then Frax)

The supercomputer Bessie coughs in a feminine voice. She stutters over the image of the Doctor and repeats the word "Metebilis". Frax uses his tools to adjust Bessie's random access memory (with any sound effects you can imagine). Bessie groans and whines, skipping over the words "Metebilis" and "Doc-tor" and "crystal".

Meanwhile hiding behind a corner, Fred and Bond whisper over what they have found. Bond guesses this computer is some sort of monitoring device. Fred guesses better and says it's a telepathic monitoring device.

Finally Frax manages to realign Bessie's sensors and clear the stutter. All images of the Doctor immediately disappear from the monitors. Bessie speaks in a calmer, clearer voice thanking Frax for his work. But then her sensors alight on a new threat... She yells "Intruders!" while her monitors show images of  Bond (but not Fred).

SICKBAY (Harley, Irish, Nurse Chapel)

The shimmering Doctor begins to flicker wildly momentarily distracting Nurse Chapel from her work on Irish. She goes over to the Doctor's medibed and responds to an alarm sounding on the panel. The thing is malfunctioning and making the most awful noise. Irish uses the delay to try and regain his strength, but before he can morph and bust out of his bonds the Sickbay doors slide open. Doctor Von Schmidt (the Doctor) strolls inside and doubletakes at seeing Nurse Chapel. He says he had expected to find his friend Dr. Chrono-Von-Meter. Nurse Chapel seems to think nothing odd of the Doctor and explains his friend went to bed already. When the Doctor sees her struggling with the ever0beeping medibed panel he offers to help fix the problem. Before she can accept or decline, the Doctor wipes the medibed's memory. (Irish sees the Doctor's shimmering image still on the bed suddenly vanish.) Nurse Chapel thanks the Doctor and moans about having to go back to her work with Irish. The Doctor merely glances at Irish (with a bit of a smirk) and heads for the door and back to the Midnight Deck Party. Nurse Chapel bemoans missing another party for work. The Doctor pauses at the door and as an afterthought invites her to join him. She hesitates knowing she has work to do and will get in trouble if she dawdles, but the Doctor convinces her they'll just spend a few minutes upstairs. After all, her work doesn't have to be finished until morning. Nurse Chapel agrees and leaves Irish & Harley in their restraints (Harley's in a cage) to go with the Doctor.

MIDDLE

COMPUTER ROOM (Frax, Bond, Fred, Bessie and Chief Blitz)

While Bessie is screaming her virtual head off about intruder Bond, Chief Blitz arrives on the scene to nab the culprit. Frax and Blitz confront Bond about his presence in a restricted zone. Blitz is certain Bond was messing with the computers, probably in an act of sabotage. Frax chastises Bond for attempting it since Bessie is the hub of the entire ship. Any sabotage could cause them to collide with a star or some other space anomaly. No one seems to take notice of Fred, even when she intrudes on the conversation and tries to defend Bond. In fact, whenever she speaks Blitz and Frax behave as if they don't even see her. Bessie rattles on about getting the intruder out of her. Fred turns to Bessie to quiet her and inadvertently lays a hand on Bessie's control panel. An electric charge zaps through Fred's hand and Bessie's control panel shorting out the entire system and plunging the room into darkness. Everything stops and falls silent.

SICKBAY (Irish & Harley)

Nurse Chapel gone, Irish struggles to free himself again. His mind is a bit clearer as the drugs are wearing off, but the restraints remain tight as ever. Irish slowly morphs in an attempt to break the size of the restraints even though they get tighter rather than looser. While he's busy doing that Harley (who's busy trying to bust out of her cage) asks if he saw that with the two Doctors. One was a ghost image on the bed and the other walked around. Irish figures out the ghost Doctor was actually an energy projection of the real Doctor who seems very much out of his head. Irish and Harley don't make much headway with their bonds until suddenly all the lights shut off and the power in the room cuts out. In the dead silence they hear the Harley's cage door click open and Irish's restraints clatter away.

DECK PARTY (Doctor, Nurse Chapel, Cpt. Lavia, Roxana, etc.)

The Doctor and Nurse Chapel join the party on the deck just as Lavia is leading a Congo line around the pool. Nurse Chapel joins in the revelry along with the Doctor. The old timelord is having a pretty good time dancing the night away with the three pretty ladies. Then suddenly, in the middle of a song, all power goes out enshrouding the deck in darkness and silence.

ENDING

COMPUTER DECK (Fred & Bond)

Bessie powers back on bringing lights up to an emergency crimson. Without a word to Bond or Fred, Blitz casually walks out of the room. Frax returns to gather his toolkit and behaves as if he had just arrived. Even Bessie takes no notice of Bond and Fred. All of them seem to have forgotten the intruders were ever there. Bond takes advantage of the happening and steers Fred out of the room. They try to follow Blitz but lose him in the darkened corridors lit only by red running lights on the floor and ceiling. They continue heading towards the back of the ship where the main passenger stairs are.

MEDICAL DECK (Irish & Harley)

Freed from their restraints in an otherwise pitch-black room, the cats make their way to the door. With a bit of a hum the emergency crimson lights come on along with minimal power. All medical devices (including the medibed controls) are dead, so the pair decides to make their escape. They head out to the corridor and up the nearest passenger staircase (the one in the Aft).

POOL DECK (Lavia, Roxana, Nurse Chapel, other passengers and crew)

Within moments the dance floor lights up again with crimson emergency track lighting. The band resumes playing and the crew (Lavia, Roxana) and passengers return to their dance as if nothing happened. Nurse Chapel quietly walks off to the crew lift en route to the Medical Deck. No one seems to notice the Doctor is no longer present.

Next time...

The ship is on emergency power and the crew don't seem to notice the difference. Irish & harley are headed up the same staircase as Fred & Bond, but who will the meet in the middle?
