Prologue
Angels of Time
by JenKoko/BroganMc - Jen Kokoski
:::Languishing on the shelves of the Doctor's immense TARDIS Library sits a little red book, 5 by 7, on "loan" from the Panopticon Library Archives. In old High Gallifreyan script, the book is from the days of Rassilon and bequeathed with special and mysterious powers.:::
[Excerpt from The Worshipful and Ancient Law of Gallifrey]
Page Alpha
In the Beginning there was light and time. And from thence arose the Celestials, beings of great power which existed in perfect harmony with the Universe. It was said that these beings could travel faster than the speed of wishes, had the power of creation over the physical domain and were one with the timelines. Until there came Chaos which threatened all the heavens and inspired those who sought to unravel the web of time.
War broke out between the forces of light and dark when the Universe was in its infancy. A war so destructive that a thousand suns exploded with the intensity of anger in one day and touched millennia of mortal lives to come.
Seeing what they had done affected the stitches of time, the Watchers atoned for the error of their ways and became angels of light. Together with their sentient Guardians, the Angels protected the forward march of time.
But the Dark Ones rejected the path of eternity and joined Chaos in the search of mortality. From their forbidden quest were born creatures of destruction, pestilence and greed. From them came an evil so great it threatened the fabric of eternity.
And so the Council of Light convened from the Guardians and Angels to decide what to do. Using the combined energies of the Universe, they cast Chaos and his minions about through time and space rendered harmless by dispersion. The Angels then turned to their traitorous brethren. It was decided that the Dark Ones and their descendants were to be stripped of their powers by a shield of ignorance. Those that could not be redeemed were condemned to exist in exile and captivity doomed to guard the secrets of the Ancients without the power to use them.
Yet the evil survived and prospered in the domain of time with the aid of mortal greed and arrogance. And so the Angels conspired to rouse their own soldiers of truth and harmony to challenge the forces of destruction.
But the nature of the Ancient Knowledge was so powerful that it was feared for any mortal creature to possess the sum total of it. So the knowledge was spread among various mortals and times in a way that ensured the balance of eternity. It was forbidden that this knowledge fall into the hands of those not bequeathed with the purity of spirit and clarity of mind to conceive of the dangers. Those who conspired to uncover the secrets of time were condemned to wallow in ignorance or suffer the wrath of the eternal forces of the Universe.
And thus the Universe was promised the reward of eternity where destruction and creation existed side by side in harmony.
Yet, ye beware for when Chaos saw that his powers had been weakened making him unable to oppose the curse of ignorance imposed by the Council of Light, he bequeathed his power into a sickness. A sickness that is destined to undermine the Universe until time's curse ended and the dominion was once again under the control of Chaos and his chosen.

Doctor
AlexKeegan Alex Keegan, 30th century Hegemonic soldier, companion of 10th
BACKGROUND:
Several weeks have passed since the Brogan and Keegan returned to the 10th Doctor's TARDIS after the strange affair in the Hellical Galaxy. The crew's usual travel and exploration is interrupted by a fervent request from Gallifrey and the acting Lord President (former Castallan Remulus). In the months since the Doctor's last visit, his homeworld has undergone great turmoil in the wake of President Flavia's bizarre disappearance from time and space. At long last, a clue has been found as to her whereabouts. A faint transmission from the wormhole in the Alpha Orion Nebula, believed to be the first and oldest star nursery of the Universe.

THE DOCTOR RECEIVES AN URGENT REQUEST ABOARD THE TARDIS
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor paces back and forth in front of the TARDIS console.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor mumbles and looks at the huge ceiling viewscreen which has a constellation displayed:
BroganMc: #::Brogan enters the console room carrying Trouble's green kitten::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor sneezes.:::
BroganMc: # Easy Irish. ::chides gently when kitten climbs up shoulder::
AlexKeegan: # :::Keegan responds to the Doctor's summons, all kitted out in
BroganMc: # What strange things? Is something wrong? The kittens are ansy.
AlexKeegan: # :::elsewhere in the TARDIS, Trouble and the kittens are ansy
and worried:::
DRTUNA: # The President of the High Council, Flavia, has mysteriously
vanished.
DRTUNA: # There are rumors and indications that she was involved in some very
dangerous research.
DRTUNA: # But, the disappearance is still mysterious.
DRTUNA: # The absolute leader of the most powerful civilization in the
universe just vanished.
DRTUNA: # Now, the Timelords have been combing the Universe for her, any sign
of her.
AlexKeegan: # No sign of her at all? That's not good!
BroganMc: # How? I thought you said the timelords could see into any time and
place with
BroganMc: # their matrix or whatever they call it.
DRTUNA: # Well, technically, Brogan, they can. But the universe is a very big
place.
DRTUNA: # Something still has to LOOK everywhere. If you had 100 trillion
eyes, it would be hard to see.
DRTUNA: # Ahem. Sorry for the lecture. In any case, now there is an
indication, a sign, from her.
AlexKeegan: # that's great!
BroganMc: # And I suppose the timelords want us to check it out?
DRTUNA: # The problem is that it is coming from a wormhole, and one very
close to what many think is the...
DRTUNA: # .... center, or birthplace, of the universe.
AlexKeegan: # A wormhole? That's very dangerous, Doctor.
DRTUNA: Flavia is one of the few at the top of Timelord society who has
treated me fairly.
DRTUNA: # No, no, no, I'm not interested in being some sort of operative of
theirs.
DRTUNA: # AND the signal coming from the wormhole is specifically calling
to....Me.
AlexKeegan: # Just to you?
AlexKeegan: # Great Googly Moogly!
AlexKeegan: # How would she know you 'd hear it?
DRTUNA: # She indicates that she tried to warn me before, and that I need to
answer now before it is too late.
DRTUNA: # Well, your opinions?
BroganMc: # What does Alex mean when he says a wormhole is dangerous?
AlexKeegan: # It sounds dangerous, Doctor.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor begins pacing in front of the console again.:::
BroganMc: # What sort of danger? Like going into a black hole?
AlexKeegan: # It's very hard to stabilize a wormhole, almost impossible, as
far as I know..
AlexKeegan: # Of course, there is a lot I don't know..
DRTUNA: # Well, we can withstand a black hole, or what I think is a black
hole, but there are risks.
DRTUNA: Wormhole or black hole could make a difference.
AlexKeegan: # if it's a wormhole, it should lead somewhere, at any rate..
BroganMc: # If we answer the summons, we could be heading straight for
disaster.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor smiles at Brogan::: Straight for disaster? Well, of
course.
BroganMc: # You said Flavia just disappeared? Of her own free will or was she
"helped"?
DRTUNA: # They are calling me in. There is a reason. If Flavia wanted me she
would come out and get me.
DRTUNA: # Flavia likes power, she did not leave willingly, I think.
RobLStubbs: # Irish > ::looking down on console from Brogans shoulder
sweeping tail back in forth::
DRTUNA: # Well, it may be a trap, but she is an old friend of mine. I have a
strong sense of obligations to...
DRTUNA: #...friends, you know.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor turns to the console::: And it probably wouldn't
hurt to just have a look.
BroganMc: #::knocks Irish's tail away from her mouth:: I don't like this
then, Doctor.
BroganMc: # Flavia may be your friend, but her captors, if there are captors,
probably aren't.
DRTUNA: # Right you are Brogan, we will need to get a look at her captors or
hosts or whatever!
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor engages the TARDIS, and it vaults off for the Alpha
Orion Nebula.:::
HELD PRISONER, FLAVIA IS PAID A VISIT
DoctorWho8: $ :::in a rather luxurious cell, President Flavia sits picking at
her food:::
DoctorWho8: $ :::the food is high quality, but Flavia's not in the mood to
eat due to her kidnapping:::
DoctorWho8: $ :::Flavia is tired both physically and mentally, but tries not
to show it:::
DoctorWho8: $ :::the door opens to Flavia's cell and a man walks in, named
Lucen:::
DoctorWho8: $ Hello there, Madame President. I hope you are doing well.
DoctorWho8: $ I would be better if I was back in my office rather than this
glorified cell.
DoctorWho8: $ Lucen> Well, you haven't eaten. Are you not well?
DoctorWho8: $ Flavia> I am well, just not hungry.
DoctorWho8: $ Lucen> The food is good and untainted, I assure you.
DoctorWho8: $ Flavia> That is not what I am concerned about. It's what you have
done to me that has
DoctorWho8: $ unsettled me.
DoctorWho8: Lucen> You will have your freedom as soon as my associates and I
agree.
DoctorWho8: $ Our plan is about to come to fruition. The Doctor is almost
here.
DoctorWho8: $ Flavia> You can not keep me here. I am the Lord President of the
High Council of Time Lords
DoctorWho8: $ Once they notice I am missing they will track us and free me and
jail you.
DoctorWho8: $ Lucen> Well see, Madame President. For right now think
carefully and ponder your part.
DoctorWho8: $ :::exits Flavia's cell:::
TARDIS ENTERS THE WORMHOLE
BroganMc: #::Brogan sees the wormhole appear on the TARDIS viewscreen::
DRTUNA: # I'm so glad we all agree about this.
RobLStubbs: # Irish> Meeow ::jumps down on floor and runs through door::
BroganMc: #::gets an overwhelming sense of ominous power::
DRTUNA: # :::The gaping mouth of the wormhole begins to grow on the
screen.:::
DRTUNA: # :::The black entrance to the wormhole is unstable, but covering the
screen as they near it::
AlexKeegan: # It's incredible!
DRTUNA: ::: The TARDIS slams into the wormhole:::
BroganMc: # Doctor, I'm not so sure this is a good idea. ::warns nervously::
DRTUNA: # :::The screen is covered by a blaze of confusing light as all sense
of direction is lost.:::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor begins floating upwards toward the ceiling as
objects fly around.:::
BroganMc: #::a loud sound begins to pound against the TARDIS walls vibrating
them::
AlexKeegan: # :::covers his eyes to shield from the bright light:::
DoctorWho8: # {S TARDIS Malfunction
BroganMc: #::The TARDIS shakes violently throwing the passengers off
balance::
AlexKeegan: # :::Keegan grabs onto the time console:::
DRTUNA: # :::The contents of the console room are swirling about, including
the occupants.:::
RobLStubbs: # Irish > ::hides under Brogan's bed with his fur standing
straight up::
BroganMc: #::the pounding whirling noise grows to an ear piercing level::
DRTUNA: # :::The console runs faster and faster, until it EXPLODES.:::
BroganMc: #::Brogan flies past Keegan, grasping air instead of a handhold::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor is blasted away from the console and bumps his head
on a girder.:::
AlexKeegan: # :::explosion flings Keegan into a wall::::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor is knocked unconscious.:::
BroganMc: #::Brogan hits the doors head first and crumples to the floor
unconscious::
AlexKeegan: # :::Keegan loses consciousness as his body slides down the wall
to the floor:::
BroganMc: #::slowly the noise, light and swirling motion subside::
DRTUNA: # :::All of the swirling objects in the console room suddenly stop
flying and fall to the floor.:::
DRTUNA: # :::Including the occupants.:::
IN A TIME LAB OF THE BLUE VOID, THE DARK ANGELS SET A TRAP
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: :::stands in front of a partially assembled time
projection unit, mumbling to
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: :::himself::::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::the door to the lab slides open and Compassion
enters the room:::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::his black robe swirls around him as he moves
across the lab to Wisdom:::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::his mouth twists into a smile::: Having problems
are we, Wisdom?
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::the last is ever so slightly sarcastic:::
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: :::looks up at Compassion with an annoyed look:::: Of
course not.
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: This just happens to be very delicate work, that's all.
The time cones must be
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: aligned with the crystals perfectly. :::moves to the
far wall and surreptitiously
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: :::glances down at the stolen notes::::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::looks on with a knowing smile::::
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: :::moves back to the time projection unit and makes a

Shorty 144: % Wisdom: See..... Perfect.
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::chuckles and smiles at Wisdom, his eyes glinting
with malicious glee:::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::his voice ever so slightly sarcastic::: Of
course Wisdom, I am sorry that I
Shorty 144: % Compassion: doubted you.
Shorty 144: % Compassion: Although..... for all your infinite.......
Wisdom.... without the crystals I
Shorty 144: % Compassion: acquired that device would be useless. :::his smile
takes on a cruel edge:::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::stands up, his eyes flashing like chips of
obsidian, his mouth twisting
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::into a cruel, sadistic smile::: That poor fool
explorer pilot was so easily
Shorty 144: % Compassion: tricked into entering the wormhole, visions of
fortune and fame dancing in his
Shorty 144: % Compassion: head, it was almost not worth the trouble of lying
to him.
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::chuckles softly::: The poor fool didn't even
realize that he was in danger,
Shorty 144: % Compassion: not even at the moment of his death. ::sighs
audibly:::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::looks over at Wisdom who is pretending not to
read his notes:::
Shorty 144: % Compassion: These carbon-based life forms die so easily.
Shorty 144: % Compassion: It makes me wish that a more challenging opponent
would present himself.
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::sighs and walks to the lab door::: I will leave
you to your work Wisdom.
Shorty 144: % Compassion: :::leaves the lab:::
Shorty 144: % Wisdom: :::looks at the door with annoyance::: About time.
AWAKENING ABOARD THE CRASHED LANDING OF THE TARDIS
BroganMc: #::a deathly silence floods the interior of the TARDIS as it
materializes::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor is half buried in a pile of books. He begins to
awaken, rubbing his head.:::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor stands, and moves to the console.:::
DRTUNA: # Very impressive! That's what I call a wormhole!
AlexKeegan: # :::Keegan winces:::
BroganMc: # ::Brogan moans softly awakening to a splitting headache::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor turns back to his companions::: This is incredible!
I have never been this close!
DRTUNA: # This is very exciting!
BroganMc: #::the interior lights of the TARDIS are dimmed to emergency mode::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor suddenly realizes he is ignoring the fate of his
companions and turns to them:::
BroganMc: # Ow... ::Brogan pulls herself to a sitting position:: I'm glad
you're so perky about it, Doctor.
AlexKeegan: # Hunh? ::holds his head:: Close to what, Doctor?
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor points at the chronometer::: Why this close to the
beginning!
DRTUNA: # I say, are you both all right?
BroganMc: # My head feels like it exploded. ::blinks:: What happened to the
lights?
AlexKeegan: # :::Sits up:::
AlexKeegan: # I think I'm okay, Doctor.
DRTUNA: # We are at the dawn of time itself! No physical representation of
any time precedes this!
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor stops and thinks:::
BroganMc: #::Brogan struggles uneasily to her feet:: Alex, are you alive?
AlexKeegan: # Yes Brogan, so far, anyway..
DRTUNA: ::: The TARDIS door opens and an intense blue light streams in.:::
THE TARDIS DOORS OPEN REVEALING A CONFUSING DESTINATION TO THE TARDIS CREW
DRTUNA: ::: The TARDIS door opens and an intense blue light streams in.:::
BroganMc: #::Offers a helping hand to Alex as the doors open::
AlexKeegan: # :::Takes Brogan's hand to get up, sees the doors open:::
AlexKeegan: # :::gets up onto his feet::
BroganMc: #::pauses to stare openmouthed outside the TARDIS doors::
BroganMc: #::she sees a bright warm Earth sun pouring through the doors::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor moves towards the door.::: I say, it may be the
Guardian of Light!
AlexKeegan: # The Guardian?
DoctorWho8: # {S Console Chime
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor turns to his friends::: I must go, but you must
decide for yourselves.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor turns and exits the TARDIS:::
AlexKeegan: # :::sneaks a hand into his jacket, feels the pocket watch is
still there, but cold::::
BroganMc: # ::exchanges puzzled look with Keegan:: Guardian? What is he
talking about?
AlexKeegan: # :::sees the vista of Vradoz thru the doorway::::
AlexKeegan: # I thought we were in a wormhole, not on Vradoz!!
BroganMc: &::Brogan steps out of the TARDIS and onto a familiar rocky
hillside::
BroganMc: &::a cool Scottish fog bathes the majestic mountainside of her
father's home::
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor stands outside of the TARDIS, finding himself in a
blue void.::::
AlexKeegan: # Is that as in the Guardian with the gifts?
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor smiles::: Yes, the gifts. Such gifts as I shall
never really deserve.
DRTUNA: & Now I wonder where this is. What do you make of this blue void
Brogan?
BroganMc: & Craigmoor! ::whispers in awe:: Doctor, we're on Earth.
AlexKeegan: & But that's Vradoz, Doctor!
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor is puzzled::: I beg to disagree. This is a blue
void.
BroganMc: & Vradoz? Alex, what are you talking about? Can't you hear old
Fergus
BroganMc: &playing his pipes down below?
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor looks at his companions, worried at their
illusions.::: Listen, this is a projection
AlexKeegan: & No, Brogan, Doctor, I see the colony on Vradoz...
DoctorWho8: & :::the Doctor's head, a voice can be heard:::
DRTUNA: & Don't believe what you see, try for a deeper perception. Brogan,
you should be able.
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor hears a voice in his head.:::
BroganMc: & Quiet Alex. I hear something.
DoctorWho8: & ::Doctor...Doctor..can you hear me?:::
AlexKeegan: & ::Keegan can hear the sound of children playing:::
RobLStubbs: & Children> ::playing a game and laughing::
AlexKeegan: & So do I, Brogan.
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor stops and listens.::: Very well, Flavia, I have come
this far.
RobLStubbs: &Marie> ::laughs::
SkyBlast1: &::speaks, voice faint in the distance:: What is that over there?
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor walks in the direction of Flavia's voice.:::
DoctorWho8: & :::Your friends cannot break through the perception, only we
Time Lords can:::
DRTUNA: & It has happened before. Leave them alone! Quickly, what is the
situation. This is dangerous.
DoctorWho8: & :::I need to you follow my thought. I need your assistance:::
BroganMc: & Alex! ::grabs his hand:: Do you hear that voice?
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor turns back to Keegan and Brogan::: Stay near the
TARDIS, don't believe the visions!
AlexKeegan: & I heard a voice..it sounds familiar....
DoctorWho8: & :::I am a prisoner in this place and I need you to help me
escape:::
SkyBlast1: & ::voice faint in distance:: Oh, must be the wind.
DRTUNA: & ::: The Doctor walks in the direction of Flavia's voice.:::
BroganMc: & The brogue. ::says wistfully:: I know that voice.
BroganMc: & It can't be, though. ::says in disbelief as she steps toward the
mountainside::
AlexKeegan: & :::Keegan and Brogan's hands part, and they slip into their
separate projections::::
THE DOCTOR TRACKS FLAVIA'S MIND IN THE BLUE VOID
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor follows Flavia's voice, and now cannot see the
TARDIS or his companions.:::
DoctorWho8: :::Do not worry, they will be fine. I need you to come to help
me out and I will explain
DoctorWho8: ::::what I know:::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor sees something ahead of him. He tries to see it more
clearly.
DoctorWho8: # :::We must escape this void and the people who have jailed
me:::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor sees a strange energy projection cubicle ahead of
him, and quickens his pace.:::
DoctorWho8: # $ Doctor, over here!
DoctorWho8: $ If you could damage the lock I'll explain.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor reaches the cubicle and carefully looks inside. It
glistens with silver tinged power:
DoctorWho8: $ Over here Doctor.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor looks at Flavia inside::: Very well, I have arrived.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor looks carefully at the energy web, seeing it has a
central locus.:::
DRTUNA: $ Now let me guess, my dear Madame President, you need me to unlock
your cell.
DoctorWho8: $ If you would please damage the lock for me to get out, I will
try to explain.
DRTUNA: $ I have an idea, Flavia, tell me now WHILE I try and spring this
complex energy lock.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor begins poking at the energy web, watching it
vibrate.:::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor works on the locus of energy projection with a
mirror.:::
Vector314: $Well Theta I have been searching through Time and Space for the
Ancients::
Vector314: $ and the secrets of Rassilon.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor shakes his head.::: Ancients?
Vector314: $Please hurry, before we are discovered.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor works on the energy lock::: Rassilon. Him again.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor carefully places his mirror between two energy
links, and the systems opens up.:::
Vector314: $ Oh Theta. You've done it.
Vector314: $ I am so sorry.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor stands, dusting off his hands.::: Yes, and
suspiciously easy. You could have done it.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor steps towards Flavia::: I think you need to tell me
the story of your research.
Vector314: $:::fades away:::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor sees Flavia fade, and turns around to take stock of
the surroundings.:::
DRTUNA: $ :::The Doctors small mirror clatters to the ground and the energy
prison pops back into action::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor tests the energy links and tries to touch the locus.
He can't. He is trapped.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor heaves a sigh::: Flavia? I at least deserve an
explanation.
DRTUNA: $ Flavia! All right. You have what you wanted. I am very willing to
listen to you talk!
DRTUNA: $ That should excite the politician in you!
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor shrugs::: Oh well. Not much value in a captive
audience, I imagine.
KEEGAN FOLLOWS THE FAMILIAR VOICES OF VRADOZ COLONY IN THE 29TH CENTURY

AlexKeegan: @ Brogan, I don't understand....:::looks around, sees neither the
Doctor or Brogan:::
AlexKeegan: @ :::He doesn't understand how this can be::::
RobLStubbs: @::sounds of laughter disappear::
AlexKeegan: @ We abandoned the colony after we were rescued.
AlexKeegan: @ Where are the Doctor and Brogan?
AlexKeegan: @ :::he hears the familiar voice again:::
AlexKeegan: @ :::Making his way through the colony, all is quiet. Too quiet:::

AlexKeegan: @ ::Holds the ball:: Is this yours?
RobLStubbs: @Marie> ::runs up and looks at Keegan::
AlexKeegan: @ ::Looks down in shocked recognition:::
AlexKeegan: @ :::slowly hands the ball to her::
AlexKeegan: @ Marie?
RobLStubbs: @Marie> Thank you .You look like someone I know . Yes that's me

BroganMc: ! Alex? ::calls back with a touch of fear and worry::
BroganMc: ! Doctor?! ::calls again, but only her own echo answers::
BroganMc: ! ::Brogan hesitates wondering if she should search for her

BroganMc: ! ::then she hears the familiar masculine voice on the wind again::
SkyBlast1: !::faintly in the wind:: Wonder what that sound was.

BroganMc: ! No, it's not possible. ::shakes head:: It was just the wind.
SkyBlast1: ! ::voice getting stronger:: Is someone there?

BroganMc: ! ::with a deep sigh, Brogan climbs the mountainside following the

Keegan's Log 8-6-97
Angels of Time, Part One
By NorisAlex
Keegan looked down at the smiling face of his sister, Marie. He smiled back, while inside, his thoughts were in turmoil.
Marie was alive!
But, how could this be? He had held her dying body in his arms, after the first attack of the werewolves! The only way she could be alive were if they had traveled back in time and appeared on Vradoz.
He supposed that was possible. The trip through the wormhole could have flung them here.
But what about the others? The Doctor had mentioned seeing a blue void, and Brogan said she saw her native Scotland. How could that be? And where were the Doctor and Brogan?
If he really was on Vradoz, then he faced a serious problem. Could he stand by and let his family die again?
The Doctor, in all his incarnations, said it wasn't possible to change time. But hadn't they, when they rescued Eve's parents? But no, the Doctor had said they were merely fixing the problem, that they weren't supposed to have been killed in the first place. But didn't that mean that it was possible to change history, after all?
If that was true, then didn't he have a duty to try and save his family and friends?
But could he, really? He didn't what the Doctor and Zoe had done to save them. Was it something he could do? Or would he have to try something else?
Keegan rubbed his temples. His head hurt and he didn't know what to do. He wished Brogan were here, so he could talk to her about it.
Keegan opened his eyes and smiled back at Marie. At least, he would enjoy what time he could, with his sister he loved.

Irish the Cat's Log 8-6-97
by RobLStubbs
Angels Pt 1
Irish climbed up on the shoulder of the one he called Soft Curves to better observe the strange moving column. It was always fascinating to him to see all the lights and interesting movements. The one known as Bearer of Treats was standing nearby next to the one who was known as Maker of Strange Noises conversing in the human language. He felt danger coming and wondered why these so called people didn't sense it as well. He tried to warn Soft Curves that danger was coming but as usual She didn't understand him. He could feel his fur rising. A sure sign that something bad was about to happen. He tried once again to tell Soft Curves that something bad was going to happen . In clear very precise cat language He said Hide Soft Curves there is much danger ahead. Retreat to the place of safety. Soft Curves acted like she didn't understand him . In disgust he jumped down to the floor and ran to the birthing place. He swiftly moved under the birthing place and curled up into a protective ball. He didn't see his siblings or his mother but was sure that they would be fine. Soon the place was shaking back and forth in a most peculiar manner. He watched with great fascination as objects fell around him. He watched for Soft Curves, Bearer of Treats, and Maker of Noises but they did not come to hide with him . He sometimes wished that his mother would let him learn to speak human since they were not complex enough to understand a civilized language like cat. His fur slowly went back down but he still felt a sensation of danger. Perhaps he should go investigate to see if the others were all right. Instead he curled up and went to sleep for a while. He was certain that he would need his strength later on. He dreamed . When he was fully rested he awoke. He wondered where his playmates where and why Bearer of Treats had not brought something good to eat. Patiently he watched the door to see if anyone would come .

The Doctor's Log 8-6-97
The Angels of Time, Part One
By DRTUNA aka Alfred C. Snider
As the Doctor examined the strange energy prison he now found himself in, one portion of his mind detached from the task of trying to disable the energy bonds and thinks about the past ... the distant past.
Flavia had always been an interesting character. The Doctor remembered when he first saw her when they were both quite young. He had seen her while he was vacationing in South Gallifrey. Later, they had met as young adults in the capitol, and eventually they had been together at the Academy.
Flavia had always been a leader, and had always been the most impressive woman student at the Academy, and often the most impressive of all the students. As a young man the Doctor had been curious as to how she was able to excel in her studies while also waging a successful broad-based publicity campaign in her favor.
Flavia had flirted with the Doctor at the time, but nothing ever came of it. She stopped granting him much personal attention when Loradnuropea (Lora) came along some time later and captured most of the Doctor's personal attention. And when IT happened, that day when the Doctor's life was shattered by what happened to Lora, Flavia had done nothing.
Flavia had immersed herself into raw temporal research and High Council politics, the usual Gallifreyan route to power. She had stayed behind to conquer her own society. The Doctor, on the other hand, had left Gallifrey with Susan, deciding on the life of a true renegade.
As the Doctor's mind worked to discern how to delink the energy bonds, the one corner of it which was reminiscing finished up that task. Yes, Flavia had always been a fascinating character, but now the Doctor's interest in her had put him in quite a fix.
The one obvious thing was that the Doctor felt safe even though imprisoned. He reasoned that he wasn't attracted here by Flavia's signals just to be locked up, and that there was obviously another intelligence which craved his company and communication. Whoever had locked him up would want to communicate with him, and probably soon.
"Well, I hate being locked up on principle in any case," as he continued to determine the sequencing of the energy bonds on his prison cell and how they could be undone.

Brogan's Log 8-6-97
Angels of Time Pt 1
By JenKoko/BroganMc - Jen:)
Brogan stared numbly at the entrance to that horrible cave in Craigmoor, Scotland. Behind her was the serpentine statue that once sprang to life killing her father's friend Angus and before attacking her. But now that guardian of the ancient shrine was as silent as the grave. The look on Brogan's face suited it well as she recognized the surprising figure in the cave entrance.
Her father was here.
Professor Robert MacGill, geophysicist and UNIT researcher, smiled warmly and his only child. Brogan could see the pleasant surprise in his eyes. And the love. Even after a year of hanging onto only memories, Brogan could still read her father's emotions like a book. His words, often a confusing lecture of theories and scientific mumbo jumbo, held little meaning for her, but from her youngest memory Brogan could always see the truth in her father's warm brown eyes. His honesty, his love, even his irritation and disappointment were focused in those dark orbs. Brogan only had to gaze at them a moment to know what he was thinking. To know that he was real and not some mistake of imagination.
But how could that be? Brogan wondered silently. Her father was dead. She had seen him in his coffin. She had buried him beside her mother in the little cemetery of Craigmoor. She had watched the workers fill in the grave and stood vigil over him for hours wishing she could have had one more chance to see him alive. Wishing that she had not refused his request for a visit after all.
At the time, she thought she had a good reason for staying in London her last Easter on Earth. She didn't want to tell her father how she'd ruined her career with her musings of alien time travelers. In hindsight, it was a stupid and selfish reason.
If only she had realized that. If only she had gone to him when he asked. Maybe, just maybe, she could have saved him from E'Thrax and the stolen power of the Morag. Maybe her father would still be alive instead of another victim of the ancient curse over this cave like his friend Carolyn Montrose.
Brogan bit her lip trying to quell the surge of old guilt and despair. More than a year had passed, but the painful regret still remained firmly tucked within her heart. Loosing her father was infinitely worse than loosing her job. Worse still was the knowledge that in his final weeks of life, Brogan's father wanted to tell her something but she arrogantly refused to listen. When he needed her most, she wasn't there.
She tried to atone. Months of travel in time and space pledged to aid the Doctor in his fight for the greater good. Brogan had helped, she hoped. The people of Camelot survived Morgaine's evil magic; the Sekmethians found freedom from the Rani; and she even helped save her own people on Earth from the machinations of vampires to the destruction of Aw Pook. There were so many adventures, so many faces she aided in a crisis before she vanished once again into the timelines.
Brogan had become a ghost never staying in one place or time too long. Never getting too close to anyone for fear of having to say another tearful good-bye. Her life aboard the TARDIS was a page out of science fiction and yet in some ways it was as familiar as her old life on Earth. She was still wandering, still searching and running from the demons of her past.
But here she was facing her past and looking him straight in the eye. Brogan smelled the biting scent of fresh heather growing on the mountainside. She heard the faint piping of old Fergus in the village below. She knew by the feel of the chisel in her hand that she was not dreaming. She was on Earth, exactly where she had left over a year ago. The fact that her father was alive and well could mean only one thing.
She had traveled back in time to her own history. To fulfill the fondest wish of her heart. To see her father one last time. To save him from his own doom.
A familiar voice called to Brogan from her memory. "You must never tamper with your own history," reminded the gentle tones of the Doctor's second incarnation. "We can not change our past without endangering our future."
With newfound frustration and guilt, Brogan realized the Doctor was right. Whatever brought her back to Craigmoor and allowed her to see her father didn't matter. She was helpless to interfere and alter the course of her own path. Time was a tricky thing. A creature of consequence, if one tinkered willy nilly with the chain of events there's no telling what new future would be created.
But hadn't the Doctor interfered and changed history for Eve on Jurai? Didn't he bring her parents back from the dead or was that the way time was supposed to be? Surely, they had altered the course of history in their valiant rescues on Elysium and Vision World. Or were they merely setting things right again after another interfered with time?
Brogan didn't know. She lacked the knowledge and experience of a timelord to know what was tampering and what was correcting. Surely there was a reason she had been brought back in time to see her father. If only the Doctor would advise her.
Where was the Doctor?
He was walking just ahead of her and Keegan. They weren't more than a few feet away from the TARDIS when he started talking nonsense about a blue void. But he heard Fergus's piping, so did Alex. Where was Alex? She was standing right next to him, vaguely she remembered holding onto him so they wouldn't slip away from each other like on Jurai. And then she heard her father's voice on the wind. She just took one step forward and then... she was alone.
Brogan began to panic again. Where were her friends? Why didn't they follow her to the cave? And more importantly, how did entering that wormhole bring them home to Earth directly in Brogan's past?
A creepy sensation tingled Brogan's spine and the hair on the back of her neck stood up in alarm. Despite the nonthreatening surroundings and her father's presence, her friends were conspicuous by their absence. Vaguely, the feeling of impending doom she sensed when the TARDIS approached the wormhole returned. But this time it had the dull taste of a familiar trap.

DOCTOR IS REUNITED WITH AN OLD FRIEND IN THE ENERGY PRISON

TArkkannan: #Flavia::: Disgusting, pervert!
TArkkannan: #::The Robe follows, revealing shabby Timelord Robes::
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor is surprised::: Flavia, as a servitor? This is a

TArkkannan: #:::coldly:: Theta you have *no* idea.
TArkkannan: #::rubs her arms:: You are in luxury. Believe me.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor looks at her carefully...the robes look very real,
and aged. Hard to copy the Lord...
DRTUNA: #:::...President's robes!:::
TArkkannan: #::irked:: what *are* you staring at?
DRTUNA: # Well, luxury is always comparative, ah Flavia or whatever you are.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor is suspicious:::
TArkkannan: #Whatever I-- well, *really*!
DRTUNA: # Look, a signal from Flavia drew me here, and then I heard her voice

DRTUNA: #...they could all have been simple projections. Why should I now
accept you as real.
TArkkannan: #::Begins pacing:: Y-yes, well ::subdued:: Dreadfully sorry. I

Keegan's Log 8-13-97
Angels Of Time, Part Two
By NorisAlex
Keegan lay on his back at the bottom of a hill. He was back on the colony world of Vradoz. He was about to die.
The white lioness shook its head and ROARed again.
He looked up the hill at the cat creature through slitted eyes. Maybe if he pretended he was dead, it would go away.
The lioness roared again and started coming down the hill.
Then again, maybe it won't work.
Keegan thought of his friends the Doctor and Brogan. He hoped they were okay. Maybe it would be better if they didn't know what happened to him. Being missing might be better then being eaten by a lion.
At least he'd gotten to say good-bye to Marie. While she was still alive, and could acknowledge him, not when she lay dying in his arms.
Keegan lay on his back in the warm sunshine and waited for the end.

Angels of Time, Part Two

Cats, no less liquid than their shadows,
Offer no angles to the wind,
They slip, diminished, neat,

Less than themselves - A.S.J. Tessimond
--------
Trouble was quite perturbed. She had had enough of this invisible wall that was separating her from the beings who were here caretakers. She walked around the invisible barrier, testing it for any place she could get through. No such luck. Confused, she sat down and with a loud "Meeeow!" demanded the wall to let her pass. This didn't help either, which agitated her further. Looking around, Trouble noticed an odd machine a few yards away. This sparked her interest and she trotted over to it to check it out. Trouble gave it the full inspection: sniffing it, batting at the wires, walking all over it, and crawling into every little compartment. She began to lose interest in it, and jumping down, her foot hit a switch. She landed in a small space and prepared to jump down again, when she noticed she wasn't on the machine anymore, but instead at the entrance to a cave. Walking out, Trouble felt different. She felt more powerful, and bigger. She looked down at her paws, but nothing seemed wrong, so she continued her walk out the cave. Outside, Trouble found herself in a small meadow close to a forest. She sniffed the air, taking in the scents, one which she recognized well! Turning her head, she saw a figure not far from her, Keegan! Delighted, she started to run towards him. Oddly enough, when he saw her, instead of staying there, he turned and tore across the grass to the forest. Trouble instantly thought this a new game, and poured on the speed, intent on catching him....

Brogan's Log 8-13-97
Angels of Time Pt 2
By JenKoko/BroganMc - Jen:)
The Earth crumbled around her burying Brogan beneath a mound of lifeless dirt and stone. She couldn't breathe or move as inch by inch the darkness closed in around her leaving her feeling so cold and alone. Leaving her feeling as lifeless as the tombstone inscribed with her name.
Hear lies Brogan MacGill, beloved daughter in life and death.
Once the darkness had blinded her, Brogan's mind whirled in terror. She felt nothing, not even her own chest rising and falling with breath. Could it be true? Was she really dead?
But her father seemed so real to her when she embraced him in the cave. And Ancelyn, he was as solid as the day he grabbed her to mistakenly return her to her king of Camelot.
"The world believes you dead, my queen."
Ancelyn's words churned uneasily through Brogan's thoughts. His eyes showed his sincerity the moment he opened the cottage door and found her bedraggled on the other side. And the grave at Craigmoor, beside her father's, it was real. She felt it, touched the cold stone freshly chiseled with her name.
How could she feel it? The dead do not feel, do they? Brogan desperately tried to grapple with the eternal question. When her mother died, people said her spirit had gone on to heaven, to a higher place where she would no longer feel any pain.
But if Brogan was dead, then wouldn't she be in heaven now? Or was she unworthy of heaven and therefore doomed to walk her past and forever be punished by the regrets of what might have been? Was this a just punishment for all her arrogance, for all the mistakes she made in her quest for knowledge and adventure? For forsaking those who needed her most, she was doomed to spend eternity in dark isolation. Alone and frightened in an existence of lifelessness.
"If you can not feel, you can not despair, Brogan Lady."
The familiar metallic voice invaded Brogan's consciousness with just the right mixture of computer arrogance and Cockney presumption. "K9?" Brogan called back hanging onto hope that she had heard the voice correctly.
"Affirmative mistress," came the simple reply.
"K9, where are you? I can't see you."
"This unit no longer functions," ominously declared the canine computer. "Have your memory banks been erased regarding the explosion on Xeos?"
"Xeos was where you were..." Brogan's voice drifted into a dead silence as she recalled the painful loss of her TARDIS friend. "But how can you be here talking to me if you are... I mean, if you no longer function?"
"Even dogs go to heaven, mistress," retorted K9 with a touch of his old biting sarcasm.
"Then I'm really..." Brogan couldn't say the word. She couldn't, wouldn't believe that her travels could end so abruptly. Just like that she was dead. "But the Doctor said the TARDIS could withstand a black hole," she argued aloud.
"Wormholes are highly unstable, mistress," K9's disembodied voice corrected. "The guv's always underestimating them. He must have missed my navigational input once too often."
Dear God, could it be true? Brogan had sensed disaster on the edge of that wormhole. She tried to warn the Doctor to turn back, but he was too determined to go after his friend Flavia. Then everything had changed into a blur of sound and color. The Doctor tried to stop it, but it was too late. The Console Room was like the inside of a dryer running on extra high. Books and furniture flying about the room. Brogan tried to grab the TARDIS, her hand felt the ship tremble and cry out in pain. And then she went flying into the doors before the world went black beneath an explosion of pain.
"The Doctor was always taking more risks than he should," declared the soft high-pitched voice of a familiar female. "I kept telling him not to trust his luck so much. If only he had listened to us, Brogan."
"Zoe?"
"You were expecting someone else?" quipped the old TARDIS companion.
"But you're not dead," Brogan argued with the presence of her friend's voice in her death. "You're on Earth campaigning with the Rainbow Warriors."
"Yes, I was, in the 21st Century," Zoe clarified. "It was a marvelous time Brogan. I wish you could have seen more of it and the work we did to restore Mother Earth's grandeur. The Aurora Borealis returned to the sky the night my granddaughter was born. It turned out to be a beautiful century as were many I knew in time. Did you ever realize how wonderful our home planet was throughout history, Brogan? Death hardly compares with life on Earth, does it?"
No, Brogan sharply commanded herself not to believe the voices in her mind. It couldn't be true. She wasn't dead, just dreaming. That was it. It was all some horrible nightmare in which she willed up the faces and voices of those she missed most. Of the few she had allowed to come close to her, to touch her heart, since she ran from her life on Earth. It was all an illusion easily broken by one moment of consciousness.
"I knew you couldn't be dead, my queen," echoed the distant words of Ancelyn. Centuries had passed since that moment in Camelot when the knight-in-shining-armor mistook Brogan for his beloved Queen Guinevere, but the warm smile was the same as she saw earlier in the rain on Earth. "You have far too much spirit to die so easily, my queen."
Slowly, with all the grace of an eclipse swallowing the comforting light of the sun, a dark voice claimed Ancelyn's words. The tone warped into a facsimile of pleasure and longing. "No my queen, you can not die. Not yet. Not until you are mine."
Brogan shuddered in recognition of that evil cackle. Even in death, the presence of the Enigma haunted her. If only the Doctor had been able to destroy it, perhaps her soul would be free from it's dark remnants. But the Enigma was immortal and her soul was useless to him. Unless she was still alive.
Alive and trapped in unending darkness. Brogan felt the paralyzing terror circle her like a flock of vultures. If this was just a dream, why didn't she wake up? If Zoe and K9 were right, if the TARDIS had been destroyed by the wormhole, then where were the Doctor and Alex?
"Your friends, like you, are dead," pronounced the dark voice from Brogan's grave. "The dead must each face their own demons."
"No, that's not true!" Brogan shouted back with all her will. A smug sigh of reconciled pity answered in return. "Alex wouldn't lie to me!" she shot back in defiance. "He told me he was ok. In the TARDIS, I saw him. He promised me he was alive. He wouldn't lie. Best friends don't lie!"
"The dead can not reassure the dead," resolutely commanded the mysterious voice.
"No, Alex Keegan can't be dead," Brogan argued nonsensically. "He's too strong for that, too good and noble to die because of a fluke. Like the Doctor, he can't possibly be dead!" Brogan demanded through a wall of frustration and despair. "If they were really dead, then they would be here with me. Alex would never leave me alone in the dark. He knows I'm afraid. He knows I..."
"The dead know nothing, see nothing beyond their own regrets," interrupted the grim voice. "If you will not believe, then perhaps you should look upon the truth with your own eyes."
Before Brogan could question the intention of the mysterious words, the darkness surrounding her dissolved into a confusing splatter of color. The world spun around her in a whirlpool of shape and sound. A familiar ear-piercing scream tore through Brogan's consciousness. It was a cry of terror and pain. It was a cry emanating from her own lips as the TARDIS spun wildly through the wormhole.

IN THE COUNCIL ROOM, THE DOCTOR AND FLAVIA HAVE A PRIVATE CONFERENCE
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor and Flavia are now alone.:::
DRTUNA: # Flavia, you have been one of the most loquacious and political
Timelords who ever lived.
DRTUNA: # I can't believe you have so little to say in this matter.
TArkkannan: #What is there to say? Do we honestly have a choice?
TArkkannan: #::low voice:: I *resigned* Theta. It was the only way I could
do my research.
DRTUNA: # Resigned? You?
TArkkannan: #Yes! Why not? You did.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor turns back to Flavia.::: Of course I resigned! But I
always only wanted to be free.
TArkkannan: #Well, maybe *I* did too. Is that so hard for you to believe?
DRTUNA: # And you, Flavia, have always wanted to rule, and you have.
Resignation is different for us.
TArkkannan: #Piffle!
DRTUNA: # Hard for me to believe? Why yes, that's it exactly. Hard for me to
believe.
TArkkannan: #And a royal "us" yet. Really, Theta.
TArkkannan: #::sniffs:: I suppose if I was that little redheaded bit you'd
believe me then.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor grimaces::: Flavia, leave HER out of this. I try
not to remember. YOU were there!
DRTUNA: # Flavia, we need to leave this place, and we need to not haul these
Celestines around in time.
TArkkannan: #And how do you propose to leave without them? Do you think
they'll let you?
DRTUNA: # We need to break through these energy structures and find the
TARDIS.
DRTUNA: # We can then leave this wormhole.
TArkkannan: #::coolly:: Oh? Given up on your companions?
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor pulls out his pocket watch and begins scanning:::
DRTUNA: # No, no, no. Of course not. I am scanning for them now.
DRTUNA: # But then, I can't read a thing in this wormhole!
TArkkannan: #You don't think they'd be silly enough to keep them in the same
place, do you?
TArkkannan: #I'm not sure where they'd be...
DRTUNA: # And I can't locate the TARDIS.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor takes the Stattenheim Remote Control out of his
pocket and activates it.:::
DRTUNA: # :::Nothing happens.:::
DRTUNA: # Well, perhaps I can negotiate for the fate of my companions at
least.
TArkkannan: #::winces:: Do turn that off, Theta, it makes such a noise...
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor shakes the Statten. device and frowns, puts it
away.:::
DRTUNA: # I hate it when that happens.
TArkkannan: #Went right into my teeth--
TArkkannan: #Dreadful
DRTUNA: # Don't want to ruin that smile of yours, certainly!
TArkkannan: #::sniffs:: Much you ever cared for it.
DRTUNA: # Flavia, stop it! You are one of the hardest politicians in our
history. All that is past.
TArkkannan: #Theta, you never knew me and you never bothered to.
DRTUNA: # We were colleagues and friends, certainly Flavia. We all make our
choices.
TArkkannan: #::sighs:: This isn't the place to be discussing this.
::glares:: Laughing at me again.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor takes Flavia's hands::: We are Lords of Time, but we
cannot relive our own lives.
DRTUNA: # We must try and make the best we can out of the choices we have
already made. Please.
DRTUNA: # ::: The Doctor smiles at Flavia.:::
TArkkannan: #Speaking of choices, I see that we have only one choice now.
You have to take them.
DRTUNA: # Very well, I will help these Celestines, but only in a limited way,
and only to rescue my companions
DRTUNA: # Hello, Celestine elementals! Please come back and save me from too
much personal revelation!
THE DARK ANGELS OBSERVE THEIR CAPTIVES FROM A CONTROL ROOM IN THE BLUE VOID
DoctorWho8: # ::the three leave and go to the crystal control room:::
DoctorWho8: & :::turns on the view screen::: Let's see what they are saying?
Shorty 144: & Compassion: I still do not see why we do not do things the
simple way.
Shorty 144: & Compassion: It would be much simpler if we just made him do
what we wish.
DoctorWho8: & There's no need to get uptight. I have confidence in Flavia
that she'll do her part.
DoctorWho8: & She wants too much the stuff I "promised" for her.
Shorty 144: & Compassion: I tell you that if we threaten his friend's lives
he will do exactly as we say
DoctorWho8: & Forcing the Doctor will only alienate him. Let Flavia win him
over.
Shorty 144: & Compassion: :::looks disapproving, but does not respond::::
DoctorWho8: & What do you think Wisdom
Shorty 144: & Wisdom: I think Flavia will do her part, certainly.
DoctorWho8: & Wisdom> Well I think you are right, Lucen. For right now at
least.
DoctorWho8: & Thank goodness I can count on your backing, Wisdom.
Shorty 144: & Compassion: :::shakes his head::::

AlexKeegan: $ Oh no, what now??!!
IN A CRYSTAL CONTROL ROOM, THE DARK ANGELS HEAR THE DOCTOR'S CALL
Shorty 144: & Compassion: Well, I guess you were right Lucen, this time.
DoctorWho8: & Wisdom> ::Looks at another screen::: Oh dear.

DoctorWho8: & Wisdom> A projection tube is under extreme stress and the other

DoctorWho8: & Lucen> Well, we're going to have to worry about that later. I

DoctorWho8: # Wisdom> Oh no! There's a renegade force in the Time Lab!
Shorty 144: # Compassion: :::his eyes flash with anger:::: A renegade force?!
DoctorWho8: # Lucen> How did that happen?!
TArkkannan: #::starts to laugh:: Oh, my, forgot to lock the door did we?
Shorty 144: # Compassion: Everyone will pay with their lives if this plan
fails!
DoctorWho8: # Lucen> Stop thinking that way. You'll be no better than her.
TArkkannan: #Piffle, I fully expect *you* to be doing all the paying.
Shorty 144: # Compassion: :::whirls around and glares at Wisdom::: Activate
the self destruct button on
Shorty 144: # Compassion: the tubes..... That should kill the renegades.
DoctorWho8: # Wisdom> Wha..what?
DoctorWho8: # :::Flavia also disappears in a flash of light:::
DoctorWho8: # Lucen> Damn! Now she's gone too.
IN THE TIME LAB, FLAVIA JOINS THE PARTY OF AWAKENED SLEEPERS
AlexKeegan: $ She's awake, Doctor, you did it!
TArkkannan: $::sits up, rubbing her eyes:: Ugh, I've just had the
*strangest* dream.::Sees Alex:: Who are *you*?!
AlexKeegan: $ I'm Keegan, one of the Doctor's companions...:::offers her a
hand getting out of the tube:
RobLStubbs: $ Trouble> ::runs over to Flavia and brushes up against her leg::
TArkkannan: $::Looks around:: Theta! I can't say I'm surprised. ::frowns at
Alex:: Didn't you used to be a girl?
AlexKeegan: $ Me, a girl? Oh, you must be thinking of Zoe....
TArkkannan: $::sniffs:: No, no, no, this one had red hair.
TArkkannan: $::Sees Trouble:: Oh, hello, kitty. Nice kitty.
RobLStubbs: $Trouble> {S purrs}
TArkkannan: $::stands up, carrying the cat.:: Whatever are you up to, Theta?
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor turns to Flavia::: Please, call me Doctor.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor smiles::: This makes a terrible noise and smokes a
bit, but it may work!
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor goes to Brogan's tube. He aims the sonic screwdriver
and engages it.:::
DRTUNA: $ ::: Once again, a blast of energy fills the air, a bit less smoke
this time.:::
AlexKeegan: $ ::turns towards the Doctor::::
AlexKeegan: $ any luck with Brogan?
DRTUNA: $ :::The crystals in Brogan's tube crack, but she is not mentally
released .:::
AlexKeegan: $ It's not working, Doctor...
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor touches her forehead softly::: I'm afraid not.
Flavia, can you help me here?
TArkkannan: $Of course.::hands Alex Trouble. She presses her fingertips to
Brogan's temples::
AlexKeegan: $ ::Keegan takes Trouble from the nice lady::
DRTUNA: $This tube seems not to be disconnected.
DRTUNA: $ The crystals are cracked, like yours, but she has not regained
consciousness. I am very worried.
DRTUNA: $ You see, she is a rapidly developing telepath, yet her thoughts are
very faint.
TArkkannan: $::Mentally:: Oh, do *hush* and let me concentrate.
TArkkannan: $::Her eyes close. Her breathing slows as she slips into
trance::
TArkkannan: $::Her breathing slows even further::
TArkkannan: $::gasps deeply. Pulls her hands away and almost collapses::
TArkkannan: $::shaken:: So far away. So- very- far- away...
BROGAN FACES THE ANGELS IN A DOMAIN OF BRILLIANT WHITE LIGHT
BroganMc: ! ::Brogan and the Guardian reappear in a strange spaceless domain
of bright light::
BroganMc: ! ::Brogan shields her eyes from the light, but it is not painful::
BroganMc: ! ::the light is warm and comforting around them, slowly it dims::
Eng6gcgs: ! ::The Guardian relaxes his grip on Brogan's hand::
Eng6gcgs: ! ::The Guardian steps forward, and begins to wait for something::
BroganMc: ! Where are we? ::looks around in awe at her surroundings::
Eng6gcgs: ! We are safe. We must wait for those who wish to see you
BroganMc: ! ::she realizes the light comes from a massive collection of
brilliant crystals::
BroganMc: ! These crystals seem so familiar to me. ::reaches out to touch
one::
Eng6gcgs: ! ::The Guardian turns to Brogan, and speaks:: this must all seem
very strange.
Eng6gcgs: ! the crystals are familiar to you, Brogan. Wait!
BroganMc: ! ::as soon as she gets a scant inch from crystal it moves::
BroganMc: ! ::the crystal glows a brilliant fiery color and floats above
Brogan's head::
BroganMc: ! It's alive! ::backs away in fear, reaches for Guardian's hand::
Eng6gcgs: ! ::The Guardian takes Brogan's hand:: don't be afraid
SkyBlast1: ! ::appears as a fireball::
SkyBlast1: ! ::orbiting Brogan::
BroganMc: ! Are these the "people" you wanted me to meet? ::to Guardian::
Eng6gcgs: ! They have been waiting for *you*. They will not hurt you. They
are the Angels
NORdOUR: ! So who is this woman Brogan?
Eng6gcgs: ! Angels, i have brought the chosen one. Will you see her now?
SkyBlast1: ! Yes, we shall.
Eng6gcgs: ! Step forward, Brogan, the moment is here.
BroganMc: ! ::Guardian gives Brogan a gentle nudge forward::
BroganMc: ! ::Brogan stands alone in center of void, stiffens suddenly::
Eng6gcgs: ! Angels, instruct her, she is here to assist us
BroganMc: ! ::Brogan eyes the strange energy beings suspicious of them as they
circle her::
BroganMc: ! Ok, I'm here. What do you want?
SkyBlast1: ! Angel #1>You are Brogan MacGill, are you not?
NORdOUR: !Is she qualified?
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> She is too headstrong. See how she challenges what she
fears?
BroganMc: !Brogan> ::ignores the jibe:: Yes, I am Brogan. Who may I ask are
you three?
Smiley3040: Angel>Is she worthy?
SkyBlast1: ! ::to other angels:: She seems a bit impatient.
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel 2> What say you, guardian?
Eng6gcgs: ! Guardian > she is brave, the Doctor has taught her well
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> The Doctor has not taught her nearly enough.
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel 2> she will fail us
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> She is far too "human"; far too ignorant for what lies
ahead.
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel 2> we cannot take the risk
Smiley3040: Angel> she is too emotional
SkyBlast1: ! #1> I don't doubt her bravery, but there are other qualities to
be exhibited.
SkyBlast1: ! #1>She must have patience.
Eng6gcgs: ! Guardian> she has the strength to defeat our opponent
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> Wisdom takes time and experience. I fear she has
neither.
SkyBlast1: ! #1>Strength and bravery are not nearly enough.
Eng6gcgs: ! Guardian> she is the chosen one, that is already decided, it is
her or it is no one
Smiley3040: ! Angel> she has been foolhardy as well!
Smiley3040: ! Angel> Even she doubts herself at times
Eng6gcgs: ! Guard> Angels, she is the chosen one. Can you deny that? Can you
deny me?
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel> No, she is not suitable, how can she fight our
opponent?
BroganMc: !Brogan> What opponent? What are you planning?
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> It is not what we are planning, child, that matters.
BroganMc: ! Brogan> Then it is your enemy that is planning something?
Smiley3040: ! Angel> It is you who must face the challenge ahead.
SkyBlast1: ! #1> She is our only hope, it seems.
Eng6gcgs: ! Guardian> shush, Brogan, do not let me down
BroganMc: ! ::Brogan shouts above Guardian's voice:: How can I help you?
BroganMc: ! Brogan> I am DEAD! ::pauses:: Aren't I?
Smiley3040: ! Angel> Not yet my dear
SkyBlast1: ! #1> You will be soon.
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> But you soon will be.
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> Unless...
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> No, she is not ready. She will fail us.
SkyBlast1: ! #1> Then it is meant to be so.
Smiley3040: ! Angel> she is headstrong!
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel 2> Guardian, how dare you bring us this whelp. Who is she
to challenge...them?
Smiley3040: ! Angel> She may yet survive.......
BroganMc: ! Angel 3> She will fail everyone. Even herself if given the
chance.
SkyBlast1: ! #1> There is not enough time to choose another.
Smiley3040: ! Angel> Oh, the doubt, but the choice is made!
BroganMc: ! Brogan> No, I won't fail myself again! I learned that mistake
long ago.
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel 2> be sure, girl. There are dangers ahead. A great evil.
Eng6gcgs: ! Angel 2> an evil that scares even us
Eng6gcgs: ! Guardian> scares you?? That's ironic.
BroganMc: ! Brogan> I have faced the spawn of evil itself and survived!
SkyBlast1: ! #1> You've faced the spawn of evil?
BroganMc: ! Brogan> I can do so again. ::demands though inwardly she shudders
at the dark memory::
BroganMc: ! ::the dark memory of zombie killers and carnage of evil red
glaring eyes::
SkyBlast1: ! Angel 1> You have not faced this.
Smiley3040: ! Angel> And you must face it alone!
Smiley3040: ! Angel> But you can not defeat it alone........
Smiley3040: ! Angel> We should put her to the test!
Eng6gcgs: ! Yes, who better to test her and prepare her for the evil she must
face than you?
IN THE COUNCIL ROOM, THE DARK ANGELS LOOSE ANOTHER CAPTIVE TO THE RENEGADES
Shorty 144: # Compassion: :::stares at the space where Flavia was, the whirls
and kicks at the wall::::
Shorty 144: # Compassion: What is going on here!
DoctorWho8: # Wisdom, I want you to reroute the controls in the Time Lab so
the Doctor can't free anyone
DoctorWho8: # Wisdom> OK, I'm getting there. Finished!
DoctorWho8: # Lucen> Good. Now Compassion, simmer down or we'll have to put
you in a tube for a while.
Shorty 144: # Compassion: :::stares at Lucen for a moment, his eyes glinting
evilly:::
Shorty 144: # Compassion: :::smiles for a moment::: Of course Lucen, whatever

TArkkannan: $::Sinks to the floor, shivering as if cold.::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor looks at Flavia::: Come on, Flavia, I need your

TArkkannan: $::bitterly:: Thank you for *your* concern
TArkkannan: $::Pushes herself up with a disgusted look on her face:: I *knew*

DoctorWho8: $ :::over the intercom, Lucen's voice can be heard::: You see
Doctor, we have your
DoctorWho8: $ companion locked out of your reach.
RobLStubbs: $ Trouble> ::curls around Keegan's neck like a fur coat::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor frowns when he hears Lucen's voice::: Well, so much
for being willing to...
DRTUNA: $...make a deal, eh? The Celestines show their hand!
DoctorWho8: $ She won't be harmed for her mind is in a projection field.
DoctorWho8: $ So you can say she's having an out of body experience.
DoctorWho8: $ You can try and take her body, but her mind is not in there.
DRTUNA: $ Oh Lucen, I think her mind will follow well enough!
AlexKeegan: $ ::Keegan feels the watch from the Guardian begin pulsing in his
jacket pocket:::
AlexKeegan: $ :::He reaches inside and pulls it out::::
AlexKeegan: $ :::He walks over to the Doctor, shows him the watch::
AlexKeegan: $ :::whispers to the Doctor:: look, Doctor...
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor smiles::: Nice item, Keegan! Get Brogan out of that

DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor takes the watch:::
DRTUNA: $ Well, this is good fortune! We must have a guardian angel!
AlexKeegan: $ ::Keegan runs over to the tube:::
AlexKeegan: $ :::he kneels, takes Brogan in his arms and stands up:::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor holds the watch up in front of him and activates

RobLStubbs: $ Trouble> Meoww Meoww ::at Brogan::
AlexKeegan: $ :::mutters softly::: Hold on, Brogan, you can do it..
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor fiddles with the watch, and it emits a blue beam,
strengthening out in front of them
DRTUNA: $ Very well, listen to me carefully! We need to pick up Brogan and
all walk through this beam.
AlexKeegan: $ I've got her, Doctor!
DRTUNA: $ We need to walk slowly, stay together, and whatever you do, DON'T
LOOK BACK!
TArkkannan: $::Steps in to take Brogan's head:: Bother you, Theta.
DRTUNA: $ Very well, pay no attention to anything else. Flavia, you first
through the beam.
TArkkannan: $::Steps into the beam::
DRTUNA: $ On the other side of it you will find the TARDIS.
DRTUNA: $ Keegan, you next with Brogan. I will bring up the rear, just in
case anyone follows us!
AlexKeegan: $ Got it!
AlexKeegan: $ ::Keegan enters the beam, careful to stay inside it with his
precious burden:::
AlexKeegan: $:::follows after Flavia into the beam::
RobLStubbs: $ Trouble> ::jumps to floor and chases after Flavia::
DoctorWho8: $ You've got one last chance Doctor, take me with you and have
Brogan back, or have Brogan
DoctorWho8: $ die if you don't take me.
DRTUNA: $ Listen up Lucen. All of my attempts to cooperate with Celestines
have been a failure.
DRTUNA: $ I would not be very wise to try again, especially not right now.
DRTUNA: $ Holding Brogan's mind hostage is hardly a confidence building
measure on your part.
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor begins to back into the beam.:::
DRTUNA: $ ::: The Doctor walks slowly, turns around, and does not look
back.:::
DRTUNA: $ I am sorry, Lucen and Co. I have what I came for, no ride for you
this time. My cab is full.

Flavia's Log 8-20-97
(Angels of Time Pt.3)
by Ruth Dempsey
Flavia cuddled the small calico under her chin and sighed.
There was Theta, cooing over his pet humans as if they'd
done something frightfully clever. Piffle. ANYONE should
know that if you throw two members of the opposite sex in
peril, they have an annoying tendency to come out of the
situation willing to mate at the drop of a hat.
The calico rubbed nose with her, telling her firmly that Flavia
had been chosen to be *her* pet. Flavia was quite in
agreement. Sensible creatures cats...
<<The sensation of heat against her skin. Of lying deliciously
bare on velvet softness while a voice whispered her name....>>
Flavia shook her head. Dreams. Dreams that Celestine stole
and toyed with. Compassion -- there was a name -- Sadist
was a better one. No, she would not remember... She would
not...
<<"Flavia," murmured his voice. "Ah, Flavia.">>
She would not remember. She would not remember.
"Ah-HEM! I say, Flavia," Theta repeated. "I was just asking
if you'd like to go back to Gallifrey?"
"No," Flavia shook her head. "Not yet, thank you. I really
have nothing pressing there at the moment."
"You mean you really *did* resign?" he looked startled.
"Good heavens, but you're Madam President! You were
always..." And he was off again. Natter, natter, natter,
really, this incarnation was the most ridiculous chatterbox.
He was ignoring her, lost in his own rhetoric. Well, she knew
a way to stop *that* from her dreams. She grabbed his
lapels, pulled him to her and kissed him. His meaningless
jabber died in a startled squawk.
"Knew that would shut you up," she said after a moment.
"Really, Flavia!" he sputtered, turning bright red.
She picked up her kitten. "I'm off to find a bath," she
announced, adding coyly over her shoulder. "You're welcome
to join me if you like."
"Flavia, really!" He did blush such a vibrant shade of red.
Flavia stepped out of the control room. "What's the point of
being eight-hundred and seventy-six years old if you can't
act a little childish?" she asked the calico.
The kitten purred in agreement.

The Doctor's Log
After Angels of Time
by DRTUNA
The thought of Flavia luxuriating in the TARDIS bath area bothered the Doctor just a bit, but he wasn't sure why.
The Doctor knew that many of his closest friends throughout time and space had been women. His many companions, and Romana of course, had become wonderfully close friends and would remain so throughout all of his regenerations. Yet, with some women he felt a bit uncomfortable -- like with Flavia.
The Doctor was just a bit uncomfortable even thinking about the complex intimate relationships which existed between Gallifreyan Timelord males and females. Oh, that type of relationship was not that common (or else there would be far too many little Timelords running around) but when it did happen it was very complex and very deep in a unique sort of way.
The answer to all of his close relationships with so many women throughout his travels and his comfort in those relationships might lie in that important difference -- they were Platonic and social relationships while still being very strong and personal, and none of them ever represented that complex and deep intimate relationship which might exist in very rare instances. The Doctor knew that he could enjoy those friendships knowing that they were free of the vast emotional commitments and complexities of a true Timelord romance.
The kind of emotional commitment he had made to Lora. He remembered her, back in the Dark Times, when Flavia, the Master, the Rani, Borusa, and the rest of them were young, stirring up trouble in the new visionary regime of Rasillon. He recalled Lora's bright eyes and red hair, her smile, and her ability to cut all of the pretension out of him with a few simple words. He had loved her. He still loved her. Something had been stripped from him forever on that day when she had died. He remembered when he had traveled back in time during this regeneration, to Gallifrey, and they had met walking along a path. They had actually had a conversation, but he was overcome by emotion and had to leave. She could never know who that stranger was she had spoken to on the path near their home.
Perhaps when she died the capacity for love had been stripped out of him? No, that wasn't true, for he loved so many of his friends and companions, but in a very different way. No, it was the passion of intimacy that had been torn from him the day that Lora had died. Love remained, but not the passion, not the desire to become closer and intimate with someone you truly loved in that special way.
Zoe, Tegan, Brogan, Sarah Jane...he had loved them all, but not in that way. So, he was comfortable with them, sure of himself and his feelings towards them, sort of the love of a close uncle.
But Flavia, she was not in the same category. She had flirted with him when they were young, she had been a bit spiteful about Lora and the depth of her relationship to him, and now she was trying to invite him into the bath with her for a probably intimate ablution. Flavia always knew what she wanted and did what she could to get it.
No, that sort of thing was probably gone forever from the Doctor's life, he thought. Each suggestion of romance brought back a pain so vivid and so bitter than it obliterated everything else.
Bernice had once asked the Doctor, in his 8th lifespan (he was fairly young-looking and handsome at that time), why he didn't fall in love like other humanoids? It had been hard to explain, and the Doctor had never tried.
The Doctor did love a woman, and would always love her. Through centuries and the vastness of space his love for her had never faltered. They had borne children together and with their granddaughter Susan he had fled from Gallifrey after her death.
Contrary to the opinion of many, the Doctor was perhaps one of the greatest romantics in all of time and space, but that romance was for one special red headed wizardess, who was now gone from him forever. But the love and the memories remained.
The Doctor strolled to the library and whistled "As Time Goes By," realizing that now was not a good time for a bath.

FLAVIA'S LOG, PART 2
(Angels of Time 3)
By TArkkannan/Ruth Dempsey
"There's a new girl in town..."
After leaving Brogan resting, Alex Keegan prowled the
corridors looking for the Doctor. He found him standing
outside the women's wardrobe with a puzzled frown on his
face.
"I seem to have lost Flavia," he said. "Have you seen her,
Alex?"
"Not since she left the console room," Alex said honestly.
"Something wrong, Doctor?"
"Hmm, just call it a bit of "Doctor's Intuition"," the Time Lord
remarked dryly. "She's a bit overdue on her next
regeneration and that can sometimes cause problems. That's
why I'm hoping to..."
"Great Googly Moogly!" squawked Alex.
The Doctor turned. Standing in the doorway of the wardrobe
was a slim, very young woman in a spangled blue bathing
suit, blue tights and silver high heels. A spangled cap with
a fan of silver rays sticking out of it hid her hair. Attached
to the back of the revealing costume, a rainbow of feathers
fanned out like a giant peacock's tail.
"Ta-Dah!" said the woman.
"Flavia," the Doctor said sternly. "This isn't Wrigley's
Pleasure Planet, Mintar 7 or Las Vegas. Something a little
more dignified if you please!"
"Oh, poo," said the formerly dignified Madam President.
Alex's jaw was still hanging loose. "Does - uhn - does that
happen ev-every time you regenerate?"
"Much worse, sometimes," the Doctor frowned. "I spent an
entire incarnation once with the worse fashion sense in the
galaxy. Of course, that could have been the result of the fact
that the regeneration was such a hasty affair. I had barely
had been around a hundred years in that body when..."
"YIYIYIYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" shrieked the wardrobe.
A lithe figure in leather front-flipped out of the door, her
strawberry blonde hair flying. She was clad in knee-high
black boots with a mini-skirt of black leather fringe. There
were highly suggestive silver spirals on the black bustier.
"Flavia, Warrior Princess!" she announced, waving a sword
over her head. She looked at the Doctor, who was still
frowning heavily.
"No?" she asked.
"No!" he snapped.
"Guk!" said Alex.
She flounced back into the wardrobe pouting.
"Yes, definitely she delayed too long. A little rest and a cup
of tea and hopefully she'll regain most of her original
personality. Heaven knows what the High Council will say if
she remains this giddy!" The Doctor chuckled. "Although it
would certainly make the meetings interesting."
"I'll say!" Alex's eyes were bulging.
"Wheee!" Flavia buzzed out on roller-skates, clad in the blue
peacock tights with a long, liquid silver tunic belted around
her waist with a silver-spangled sash. The Doctor grabbed
her hand and brought her neatly around in a circle.
"Disco is dead," he announced. "Try again."
"You're no fun at all!" she told him.
"Doctor?" began Alex.
"I wonder if I should have gone in and helped her?" the
Doctor mused. "No," he quickly discarded the idea. "No,
inappropriate at the very least, dangerous at the very most.
Rassilon only knows what silly ideas she'd get in her head.
Yes, you were saying Alex?"
"What's Disco?"
"Better that you never know," said the Doctor grimly.
Flavia strode from the wardrobe. "Well?" she snapped.
She had kept the blue tights, put on the low-heeled warrior
princess boots, topped those with a pair of black short-shorts,
matching vest and a ruffled white shirt with long, puffy
sleeves, belted with the silver disco sash.
"It will have to do," sighed the Doctor.
"Stuffed shirt!" the new Flavia folded her arms. The calico
kitten came out of the wardrobe and she immediately picked
it up. Her hair matched the orange patches in its coat.
"Now, now, now," began the Doctor soothingly. "You just need
a little rest. I happen to know this lovely little bar..."
CHARACTER PROFILE:
Flavia 2
Ht: 5' 9"
Wt: 127 lbs.
Hair: Strawberry blonde
Eyes: blue
Skin: Extremely fair
Build: slim
BACKGROUND
The former President of Gallifrey, Flavia resigned to pursue
her forbidden researches into the Dawn of Time. Captured by
Evil Celestials, she was used as bait to draw the Doctor into
their schemes (Angels of time). Rescued, she was nevertheless
traumatized enough to trigger the regeneration she had been
putting off.
She has gone from being a stuffy, superior politician with a
disconcertingly blunt tongue (some say crass) to being a
dashing, daring adventurer - with the same disconcertingly
blunt tongue. Currently companioned with Harlequin, ("Harly,
formerly known as Zoe) the calico daughter of the TARDIS cat,
Trouble.

Brogan's Log 8-20-97
Angels of Time Pt 3
By JenKoko/BroganMc - Jen:)
She should be overjoyed. She had lived. She survived the Angel's test and escaped the wormhole with her friends. Yet Brogan tossed and turned restlessly in the TARDIS med centre.
She'd been confined to the treatment bed since the Doctor diagnosed her painful bump on the head as a concussion. Supposedly, the severity of the injury was the reason why she was the last to awaken from their projection tube prisons. Lucen and the other Celestines who trapped them, the Doctor said, had no real power over them. At least, not beyond the illusions they created in their minds with their elaborate dream machines.
And yet Brogan knew the visions of the projection tube had not been a mere dream. Nor was it entirely of their jailors' making. There was something more.
A mystery of meaning, a hidden agenda, secret presence that drove the TARDIS to the wormhole and the Dawn of Time. Brogan's instincts cried out a warning. A sensation, cross between deja vu and dark foreboding, captured her mind's eye.
The words of the Angels and their Guardian echoed in her ears. Questioning, accusing, threatening her and yet they did not harm her as the Guardian promised. A nagging twinge of awareness tugged at Brogan's mind. She realized the Angels were preparing her in that mockery of an inquisition, but preparing her for what?
The question tormented Brogan. She looked about the darkened med centre searching for someone to tell her the answer to her plaguing mystery. The room was empty, dismissed of it's hovering caretakers hours ago. The Doctor insisted the patient be given peace and quiet to rest, but in that moment Brogan wished everyone had not been so keen to follow orders.
Brogan didn't want to be alone. Not with her worried thoughts, not with the questions and foreboding memories. The Black Queen seemed to reappear in her mind a moment. A snapshot of the woman draped in suggestive red light, her features obscured by shadow, but her voice was so compelling. So familiar.
As familiar as the crystals of the Angel's Domain. All at once, Brogan realized where she had seen those crystals before. They were covering the walls of the Maraud volcano Eve ignited. Reflecting the darkness of the cave and the fire of the living volcano, they burned to the touch.
Brogan's mind flashed on another vision of that sparkling iridescent fire. This time it reflected the heat and intensity of her own sun on Earth. A jumbling swirl of jeweled light decorating the serpent god disguise of Aw Pook. She believed it all just an elaborate costume at the time for the benefit of the Mayan cult the cruel Celestine hunted, but in hindsight she realized it was much more important.
Perhaps like the amber trinket Brogan's father dug out of the sacred cave in Craigmoor. A fiery gem in a sparkling silver pendant, the Morag was the heart of E'Thrax's ultimate time weapon. A device that could rewrite time with the power locked within that forbidden mineral. It was that crystal that claimed Brogan's father. Because of it, she abandoned her home and began her adventures in time with the Doctor over a year ago.
All three minerals had the same inward fire. All three reflected an energy, a life force entirely its own. With shock, Brogan realized they were alive. Just as she reached out to touch the glowing white lights of the Angel's domain, the realization jumped out at her. The fireballs that surrounded, the angels were crystals, living crystals. And the crystals were Celestines.
But something was missing. Brogan shook her head in frustration. The Celestines were manipulative and evil creatures. Aw Pook feasted on the souls of the Maya the way the Enigma feasted on the people of the University of Vermont and Elysium Colony. Yet the Angels were not like that. Brogan only sensed light and purity in them. Not aggression or cruelty. They brought truth... and warnings.
"We are the Watchers..." the Angels said to her. "You must face an evil... an evil even we fear... You must face it alone... But you will not be able to defeat it alone..."
An evil that gives pause to the Angels of Time? Brogan wondered what that could possibly be. After all, time heals all wounds. Time answers all questions. Time avenges all transgressions. Brogan knew from her travels in the TARDIS that no evil force could outwit the ravages of time for long. Everything has an end, even evil. Unless it was an evil as old as time itself.
Frustrated with her errant thoughts, Brogan threw the covers aside and got up. She steadied herself briefly against the bed as a wave of dizziness and nausea passed over her. Brogan doggedly refused to give in to the weakness. She had to find answers. She had to understand, to know what danger lurks for her in the unwary darkness of the future.
With a determined yet weak stride, Brogan slipped out of the med centre and made her way down the empty corridors to the massive TARDIS Library. The Doctor had said that he had a collection to rival the Panopticon Library in the heart of the Citadel on Gallifrey. The complete wealth of timelord knowledge in written form rubbed spines with the whimsical musings of Dickens, Bronte, Baroness Orczy and someone named D'jal'harc from Beta Centauri Press. Brogan's fingers passed over the familiar novels of the first bookshelf until her eyes fell on a little red book. Bound in leather with gold lettering, the tomb was unimpressively sized but the air crackled above the binding.
Carefully, Brogan retrieved the book and flipped open the cover. At first the unreadable symbols similar to Egyptian hieroglyphics and Chinese characters taunted her. But then Brogan's fingertips tingled and the white pages gleamed in the library light. When Brogan blinked to clear her vision, the symbols became jumbled until lines and shapes converged into a much more familiar Earth script.
The title formed clearly on the page, emboldened in a fiery display of gold. Brogan whispered the words in awe.

Brogan and Keegan's Log 8-20-97
Angels of Time Pt 3
by Jen Kokoski as BroganMc
and David Sharpe as AlexKeegan
[In the TARDIS, a few minutes after Brogan's log ends.]
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan pops into the Med Centre to check on Brogan::
AlexKeegan: :::He opens the door with his foot, carrying a tray with a cup of tea, Earl Grey, hot,
AlexKeegan: perched on it:::
AlexKeegan: ::;He calls out softly::: Brogan?
AlexKeegan: Not meaning to disturb you, but I....
AlexKeegan: :::He sees the bed is empty::
AlexKeegan: ....brought you a cup of tea, and you're not here.
AlexKeegan: :::He sets the tea down on the bedside table:::
AlexKeegan: Now, where could she have gone off to?
AlexKeegan: Should have known she wouldn't stay in bed like the Doctor told her to.
AlexKeegan: :::smiles to himself:::
AlexKeegan: :::He pauses for a second to think::
AlexKeegan: ::snaps his fingers:::
AlexKeegan: The library! I'll bet that's where she went.
AlexKeegan: ::He covers the cup with a cloth to k eep the tea hot, then
leaves the Med Centre:::
AlexKeegan: :::He swiftly makes his way to the library:::
AlexKeegan: :::Once there, he opens the door and pokes his head in to see if Brogan's there:::
BroganMc: ::Brogan sits at a long mahogany table pouring over a little red
book::
BroganMc: ::Oblivious to the intrusion, Brogan mumbles to herself as she
rereads the passage::
AlexKeegan: ::Keegan slips quietly into the library::::
AlexKeegan: ::He sneaks up and starts reading over her shoulder:::
BroganMc: In the beginning there was light and time... ::pauses to stare
thoughtfully into distance::
AlexKeegan: :::speaks softly:: Good book?
BroganMc: But what does it mean... ALEX! ::jumps up:: Don't startle me like
that!
AlexKeegan: ::looks crestfallen::: I'm sorry, didn't mean to.
AlexKeegan: Everyone says I'm just naturally quiet.
BroganMc: ::takes breath to calm herself:: I'm.. I'm sorry. I just thought
everyone was asleep.
AlexKeegan: Couldn't get to sleep yet, Too much to think over. So I made
you a cup of tea, brought it
AlexKeegan: to the Med Centre and found you were gone.
AlexKeegan: How's your head?
BroganMc: My head's still attached, thank you. I'll live.
AlexKeegan: :::looks her head and neck over carefully::: Yep, it's still
attached.
AlexKeegan: ::smiles:::
BroganMc: ::idly rubs her bruised temple:: I got a little restless. This last
"adventure" has gotten t
BroganMc: to me, I guess.
AlexKeegan: Quite understandable, I'd say.
BroganMc: It seems to have inspired more questions than answers in me.
BroganMc: I thought the Doctor's library might help me sort a few things out.
AlexKeegan: ::He holds the chair out for Brogan to sit back down in :::
AlexKeegan: Well, as many books as there are in here, they should be able to
help some.
BroganMc: ::smiles weakly and takes a seat:: So I thought with this one.
::indicates red book::
AlexKeegan: What is it?
BroganMc: The Worshipful and Ancient Law of Gallifrey. ::reads title and shows Keegan the book::
AlexKeegan: :::Looks at it:::
BroganMc: It's sort of like a cross between the Constitution and a Bible, I
think.
AlexKeegan: ::raises an eyebrow:: Interesting.
BroganMc: Look at the first passage. It mentions the Dawn the Time and I
think the Celestines there.
AlexKeegan: :::He looks at the passage she points out:::
AlexKeegan: :::the words blur and he can't focus on them:::
AlexKeegan: I can't understand it, Brogan.
BroganMc: It's some sort of creation myth, but I know there's more fact
behind it.
BroganMc: ::Brogan rambles on until she catches Keegan's last words::
BroganMc: I told you the words were confusing. Very symbolic, but it reminds
me so much of Genesis.
BroganMc: Don't you think? With the "In the Beginning" line especially.
AlexKeegan: It has that?
BroganMc: Yeah, right there. ::points finger at the first symbol::
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan rubs his forehead:::
AlexKeegan: Maybe I'm just tired. The words were swimming in front of my
eyes and I couldn't focus on
AlexKeegan: them.
BroganMc: ::Keegan sees a hieroglyphic picture while Brogan sees English
words::
AlexKeegan: :::Nods, listening to Brogan::
AlexKeegan: Yes, I'd say it's very reminiscent of Genesis.
BroganMc: ::Brogan assumes Keegan sees what she sees::
BroganMc: Alex, do you think that religions, at heart, share the same basic
philosophies and myths?
AlexKeegan: It seems to me that many of them do, yes.
BroganMc: The Doctor says that behind every myth is a fact. Something real
but unbelievable.
BroganMc: So people create myths to try to explain it away.
AlexKeegan: Now that's an interesting idea...
BroganMc: I guess it's like the Doctor explaining we dreamed all that in the
vortex.
BroganMc: Scientists are the ultimate mythmakers, if you ask me.
AlexKeegan: I think he's wrong about that one, though.
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan stands up, starts walking around the library:::
BroganMc: ::looks intently at Keegan a moment:: You don't believe it was a
dream either?
BroganMc: Alex, where did you go, in the tubes?
AlexKeegan: :::Stands next to a bookcase, idly fingering the books:::
AlexKeegan: I went back to my home planet, Vradoz.
BroganMc: With all the wolves? ::sounds horrified::
AlexKeegan: It was before the attacks started...my family was still alive
BroganMc: Did you... ::hesitates:: see them?
AlexKeegan: ::Keegan sees on the shelf before him the Scarlet Pimpernel
series, by Baroness Orczy::
AlexKeegan: ::He nods in reply to Brogan's question:::
AlexKeegan: ::He picks up one, smiling fondly, remembering his father getting
him to read them:::
AlexKeegan: I met my sister, Marie.
BroganMc: ::senses Keegan's quiet hesitation:: It must have been very
difficult for you.
BroganMc: To see her alive... You talked to her?
AlexKeegan: Yes I did, for a little while.
AlexKeegan: ::He turns around, leans against the bookcase:::
AlexKeegan: It was difficult, and yet it wasn't.
BroganMc: Why not?
AlexKeegan: Cause I was just so happy to see her alive.
AlexKeegan: And she recognized me, even though I was older.
BroganMc: You saw her happy and not broken in pain. ::observes shrewdly::
AlexKeegan: Yes, that's right.
AlexKeegan: I found I wanted to change the past, keep the attacks from
happening.
AlexKeegan: I was going to try to tell my folks, somehow warn them.
AlexKeegan: But when Marie and I got to the house, my younger self was there.
BroganMc: But you can't change your own history, Alex! ::advises from
experience::
AlexKeegan: I wasn't able to, but I had to try. Didn't work though.
BroganMc: Eve and I learned that lesson.
AlexKeegan: And I guessed I have, too.
BroganMc: When bad things happen, sometimes you just have to learn to accept
them
BroganMc: and move on.
AlexKeegan: :::nods in agreement:::
AlexKeegan: At least I was able to say good-bye to her.
BroganMc: ::Brogan's eyes sadden in a far away look:: I went back to
Craigmoor.
BroganMc: I saw my Dad. A few weeks before he...
AlexKeegan: ::::sits down at the table, still absently holding the book:::
BroganMc: ::pauses in sadness, let's out a big sigh:: He was so happy.
AlexKeegan: That's good, isn't it?
BroganMc: He was waiting to see me. ::blinks and sheds one tear of regret::
BroganMc: He had good news he wanted to share with me.
BroganMc: That's why he wanted me to visit for Easter.
BroganMc: He was in love again. With Carolyn Montrose, that researcher friend
of his.
BroganMc: He wanted to tell me he was getting remarried. He wanted me to be
happy for him.
AlexKeegan: Wow. Some good news, hunh.
BroganMc: My father and I were a lot alike after my mom's death. We both
became walking ghosts.
BroganMc: We never stayed in one place too long. Never cared or committed
ourselves to anyone.
BroganMc: The pain of losing them was too much. But Dad was moving on.
AlexKeegan: You moved on too, eventually.
BroganMc: I ran, Alex. I ran away in the TARDIS.
BroganMc: I ran away from my home and made this ::indicates TARDIS:: my home.
BroganMc: It's not the same.
AlexKeegan: Maybe that wasn't your home anymore, though.
BroganMc: I don't think Earth will ever be my home again.
BroganMc: ::Brogan gets a strange look in her eye::
AlexKeegan: ::Keegan sees the strange look in Brogan's eyes:::
BroganMc: ::remembers the gravesite with her headstone:: Ancelyn said the
world believed me dead.
BroganMc: Did I ever tell you about Ancelyn? My friend from Camelot?
AlexKeegan: You mentioned him, yes.
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan feels an irrational flare of jealousy, quashes it down immediately.:::
BroganMc: ::a very feminine smile blossoms across Brogan's lips::
BroganMc: I told you it was only a small crush he had on me. You needn't get that
jealous look
BroganMc: when I mention his name, Alex. ::teased with a smile::
AlexKeegan: ::smiles bashfully back::
BroganMc: I admit it does do a girl's ego good when a knight-in-shining-armor
fall's for her, but
BroganMc: he's happily married now.
AlexKeegan: You met Ancelyn? And he said the world believes you dead?
BroganMc: I saw him too... In the projection tube. ::drifts off into a
confusing look::
BroganMc: He was holding his baby daughter and it was raining something
fierce outside.
BroganMc: I thought I was in Scotland, but the scene kept changing...
BroganMc: Ancelyn was so surprised to see me knocking on his door.
AlexKeegan: If he thought you were dead, he certainly would be surprised.
BroganMc: So was I, to see him on Earth. He was in medieval Camelot last time
I saw him.
BroganMc: When we said good-bye he was a knight without a liege. Now he has a
kingdom of his own.
BroganMc: ::hand falls to the silver cross she always wears around her neck::
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan is a little confused, but continues to listen
intently:::
BroganMc: I guess he was right about this. ::indicates necklace::
AlexKeegan: How was he right?
AlexKeegan: Something to do with your necklace?
BroganMc: This cross was a gift from King Arthur. Ancelyn received it when he
was knighted to the
BroganMc: Round Table.
BroganMc: It was a symbol that he was a defender of Camelot who belonged to the kingdom
BroganMc: as much as the kingdom belonged to him. As long as
BroganMc: he kept true to his beliefs, he would always find a kingdom to
belong to.
BroganMc: I guess that was why he gave it to me.
BroganMc: It was a reminder that if I kept to my beliefs someday I'd find a
Camelot of my own.
BroganMc: Ancelyn found his Camelot on Earth. He's happy playing Daddy.
AlexKeegan: I'm sure you will then.
BroganMc: I don't know about that, Alex. I never really thought about
settling down like that.
BroganMc: I mean, in a real everyday sense.
AlexKeegan: Some people don't and some people do, but only after awhile.
BroganMc: I just seem to be winging it. And yet... I keep wondering how long
this will go on.
BroganMc: Alex, do you ever think about it? Settling down with your family
again.
BroganMc: Being part of a time and place?
AlexKeegan: Well, sure, someday....
AlexKeegan: When I'm tired of adventuring...
AlexKeegan: :::Looks up at Brogan:::
AlexKeegan: Or when I find something worth settling down for.
AlexKeegan: :::looks away after a second:::
AlexKeegan: ::Keegan stands up:::
AlexKeegan: Don't you think it's time to go back to the Med Centre?
BroganMc: ::Brogan's eyes grow weary:: I'm not really tired yet. ::yawns::
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan smiles:: Looks like you are a bit tired, after all.
AlexKeegan: ::Yawns too:: As am I.
BroganMc: There so much I still don't understand.
BroganMc: ::shakes head in frustration, clutches little red book:: If only I
could figure
BroganMc: this out.... before it's too late. ::adds on a dark whisper::
AlexKeegan: Why don't you read more tomorrow?
BroganMc: ::Brogan's eyes darken mysteriously as she gazes into distance::
BroganMc: If only I could be certain tomorrow didn't hold something horrible
for me to face.
AlexKeegan: What's wrong, Brogan? :::looks concerned:::
BroganMc: ::gazes at Keegan and looses some of her dark fear in his eyes::
BroganMc: I guess I'm prone to too many nightmares, Alex.
AlexKeegan: :::Keegan realizes he's still holding the book:::
AlexKeegan: ::Offers it to Brogan:::
AlexKeegan: Here, maybe this will keep some of those nightmares at bay.
AlexKeegan: It's really good. My father got me to read it when I was a kid
BroganMc: ::reads title:: The Scarlet Pimpernel? Just what I need. A tale about a fictitious and dashing

Guardian's Log 8-20-97
'Angels of Time' - part 3
by Eng6gcgs aka Gregg
The Guardian seeks communion with the Angels.
Somewhere, Somewhen.
In a vortex the colour of life, where crystals dance in the ether and the air tastes of cinnamon, a small rip appeared in the fabric of Light, and the Guardian stepped through. It spoke:
"The Watching. I'd forgotten how nice it was here. So much warmer than the Qui Vive."
A crystal shot towards the Guardian, halting a few feet from his face and erupting into flame. The Guardian felt the Watcher speak, like glass smashing in water:
"The Domain of Light is necessary. It is our shared domain. That is where we meet. Why are you here."
The other Watchers hovered in the distance.
"I have come seeking communion. I want a word."
"Guardian. Your flippancy offends us."
"Yes, I'm sure it does. Well." The Guardian broke into a broad smile, "was I right, or was I right."
The Watcher paused. When it spoke again, its voice was more measured: "The girl passed our test."
"Hah. You see. My chosen is stronger than you give her credit. I will accept your apology."
"You were lucky Guardian."
"Lucky!?" The Guardian puts its hands on its hips.
"You have failed us before Guardian. You will do so again. You may have endangered us all. The girl is too much of a risk."
"She passed the test, she chose the path. She will face the evil."
"We have watched what will happen if she falls."
"She is strong. The Doctor has taught her well. She can break that destiny - who knows what will happen."
"You do. We have all seen it. The cancer will form, the children will learn."
"No. We have only seen possible futures. We can use those to make informed choices. We can win. We will win."
The fire grew brighter. "This is not a game."
"I know that."
"Then why do you endanger our endeavour. The girl is weak. Nothing is certain with the mortals. Even the Doctor has failed us in the past."
The Guardian's voice deepened "I have never... I mean." The Guardian paused to regain its' composure. "I mean the Doctor has always won in the end. He has always been our greatest chosen."
"We should have destroyed the evil before it began."
"Yes. I still could. I... No. That is not our way. We cannot change the Timelines." The Guardian's voice had been deeper, and then higher and more feminine. It coughed, regaining its single, androgynous voice. "You know that is not our way, Watchers. I can make things a little easier for the good, provide the necessary resistance to defend the course of time, but nothing more."
"It is different this time. The risk is too great. You are too weak. Your sheer existence threatens the balance. So much power trapped in such a creature. The White Guardian chose un-wisely."
"I am dedicated to you. I am the Guardian. How dare you question me."
"Were it not for our common goal, we would destroy you. You are too dangerous. You are un-proven."
"Dangerous...Yes. Be careful I do not destroy you. No. I will not grow angry. Yes I will. No. I understand your concern, Watchers, but let me assure you...Let me teach you that I am not as weak as you may think."
The Guardian's eyes began to flare. It stepped towards the fire ball. As the Guardian began to raise its hands, the other Crystals danced forward and surrounded it. The Guardian stood strong for a moment. Then it crumbled in pain. The Watchers spoke as one:
"Do not overestimate your powers, Guardian. You are weak and you are young. You are not your predecessors"
Gritting its teeth against the pain, the Guardian dared to reply: "They live on within me. Anything born after the in-rush is too young for you. You... ."
The Watchers increased the pain.
"You may be of use to us Guardian. You may be loyal and dedicated. But we will not tolerate failure or disobedience from one such as you. Leave us, fledgling. We grow weary of you."
Forming a bed of golden flame, the Watchers carried the Guardian back, and pushed him into the Lightness, sealing the tear after him. They returned to the dance.
Elsewhere, Nowhen.
Back in Time's-Light, the Guardian regained its composure. It stood, its eyes narrowing. It paced purposefully forward across the endless chamber, its fists balled, its heavy, rapid footfalls echoing on the marble floor, interrupting the steady, rhythmic tickings of the golden mechanisms above. The Guardian was angry. It divided into itselves, and then erupted into pure energy. On the planet of Vasillisk, the high priests and priestesses of QHuTelPlairch, the dual aspect hermaphrodite Goddess of everything, went mad and gouged out their eyes with their bare hands. The skies of the desert planet of Aridiis clouded for the first time in a hundred-thousand years, and rain thundered onto the sun-baked planes. The Aridiians, somewhat less than prepared, all drowned in the flood. Ancient empires toppled, planets burst into war, solar federations were brought down by the measliest of coups. Galaxies erupted into light and were gone. History tied itself into knots, civilizations were duplicated or erased, the past caught up with the future and the present was lost in the confusion. The aspect-that-was-Zodin was shocked at the anger of the aspect-that-was-the-Valeyard. There would be a lot of tidying-up to do.
And the timepieces ticked on. Had the Guardian been less distracted, it might of noticed that one of them was missing.
